We upgraded and we loved the loft with jacuzzi. They had a cute xmas tree and decor on the fireplace which made it cozy. Like having multiple windows and stunning views. Our teens were in a double room with balcony and their room was great too. The public hot tub was cute and spacious. An outdoor tub would be even better. Location and roam bus were great. Staff was nice.

Now this was an excellent hotel experience! At check-in, the girl asked me if I was in Banff to ski, and I told her that I was there on a date. She sent a complementary bottle of wine with wine glasses up to my room! Just an excellent hotel I would stay at the Caribou anytime I’m in Banff!

The service and food at the hotel restaurant, The Keg, was outstanding!

We stayed at this hotel for only one night. When we checked in, we intended to pay the room charge in cash, but the staff refused, saying they had no change, so we paid by credit card instead. In addition, the staff asked us to pay a security deposit. We also asked whether the deposit could be paid in cash. The staff replied that if the deposit was made by credit card as a pre-authorization, it would be $100, but if it was paid in cash, we would have to pay $200. As a result, besides paying more than $150 by credit card for the room, we also paid $200 in cash as a securitydeposit. The next day, when we checked out, another front-desk staff member unexpectedly told us: “That 200 in cash was mistakenly used to pay the room charge of over $150, so I will return more than 40 change to you. As for the credit card payment of over $150, we will cancel it with the bank.” I have never encountered such a chaotic arrangement before!

Good underground parking. The hotel is starting to show it's age but Banff is so busy and skiers are hard on rooms with the ski bags etc. Very clean, you never smelled ski boots.

It was just downhill from the start.. Granted I arrived a bit later than expected, the desk staff was too busy on their cell phones to pay much attention. The parking situation is ridiculous, first come first serve for a parking garage that will barely fit a standard suv. The hotel fireplace although welcoming and warming in the lobby made the entire floor smell like smoke. I was given an Expedia member voucher which I was told I had to use that night, with staff knowing their restaurants were closing in 15 min, and not able to use on the day I departed. The elevator, the hallways, all dirty, the room was very similar. Lastly in the middle of the night all I could hear was chewing in the walls, this place definitely has rodents. It’s just an old run down place that needs a solid cleaning and an update to bring it to the level of other hotels in the area. Without making a big deal of things, I tried expressing my displeasure to the desk staff upon checkout but they are young and simply don’t care or understand. Thankfully I was only there for one night. I would strongly encourage staying almost anywhere else in Banff.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. Some staff were excellent and got upgraded for good price to a mountain suite. The suite had an amazing view of the mountains. Cuddos to Emily for doing that for us!
