The room was clean for the most part. The bed linens smelled freshly washed. There was a thick layer of grease and dust on the nightstand behind the lamp and all down the wall. The plug in, wall and baseboard behind the nightstand was caked in a thick layer of grease and dirt and dust. It was really disgusting and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The bus pass was a nice feature and the hot pool was amazing. For the price that we paid, I was disappointed with the level of cleanliness and apparent lazy cleaning of the room.

While the front desk was friendly and very helpful, our room had fairly tattered furniture and was quite small. When we mentioned this to the front desk, they did move us to another room for an increased rate. The elevator was quite cantankerous.. it took us up to our floor, but refused to open the door, heading back to the lobby. On our second try, it bumped, hesitated, then let us out. We’ve stayed here several times previously, but with the way prices have been increasing in Banff, we’ll probably look for accommodations outside the town in the future.

Great location. Walking distance to the downtown area. Public transit just outside the property. You don't need a car, you can walk or hop on the bus. Great restaurants in the area.

I hate to write negative reviews, but we would not stay here again. We were there during a heat wave and we had a 2 story suite with no A/C. We couldn't even sleep upstairs, had to pull out the sofabed and sleep downstairs where the portable air-conditioner was set up by the window. Although the room had some charm, it was very dark with not enough lighting and somewhat antiquated. Also, the elevator was pretty sketchy if more than 2 or 3 people were in it (you wondered if you were going to make it up to the 4th floor). The good things were the onsite parking and restaurant, the staff was friendly, and the ROAM bus pass was nice. The jacuzzi pool was nice but the "workout" room was just enough to say they had one (small with 4 pieces of equipment). Sorry, but there are many better choices.
Portable A/C unit in the tub on the luggage rack because the upstairs was sweltering. Better not to be able to use the bathtub than to sweat all night. Also, they had a little fan on the dresser. They need to update the rooms and add ceiling fans.

The hotel was fine. It was a little further from the shops and restaurants in downtown Banff than I would have liked. The hotel has no air conditioning and our room faced several other rooms, so no airflow when we opened the window. They were really accommodating with the fans when asked but it really just blew around the hot air. They said they were in a heat wave, which isn’t common but it was 85 during the day and our room was 84 degrees. Other than that, it was ok.

Good stay. Room was warm due to late heat in Banff but we were able to cool the room by opening the balcony door. I was disappointed in the $22 buffet as the food was good but not very warm.
