Front staff and check in great and responsive. Bed great, bathroom small likenesses to cruise boat traveling. It rained one day and i asked for an umbrella, to which i was asked for a bond $30?? I was booked in for a week...and it was a Monday, the start of my week with them. Not helpful at all. No impressed so far and its only Tuesday....time will tell :-)
Ibis is a great stay with all the comforts of the Novotel. Great friendly, helpful staff. Would like some wine glasses in the room. Otherwise had everything we needed, very comfortable.Parking was easy and reasonable.
Visited the hotel following a day of meetings. The reception and general staff were very pleasant and accommodating. They made what was a very hectic day bearable! Breakfast was easy to sort and range suited what I wanted..mix of cereal and hot food. Location and access ideal for Newmarket.
I stayed at the Ibis as it was central to our conference and was adequate for my needs. The cost was reasonable and as I was not looking for or needing a top quality place for a 'holiday', this was all I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the included breakfast certainly all I needed. For business travellers it was great.
Over all this hotel was great value for money. Personally we prefer a darkened room, and this definitely wasn’t. Check in/check out staff extremely friendly and efficient. Our two complimentary coffee vouchers at check out were a welcome bonus!
Stayed here for one night (Saturday). The room was small with a very large bed. Perhaps a smaller bed would be a good idea to give more space. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Extra pillows and a blanket were provided. No hand towel in the bathroom. I asked for an additional bath towel and this was delivered quickly. The bathroom was a neat little pod in the corner of the room, much like those found on a cruise ship. Plenty of loo paper and toiletries provided, the room and bathroom were clean. The room faced the main road however the sound of the traffic was not loud and we slept well, blockout blind works really well. The Ibis wing of the hotel is a bit worn and tired and could do with a revamp. Parking was easy with lots of spaces but I think charging for it is a bit harsh. Good overall lower priced accomodation in a good area and very friendly staff. Will stay again but prefer the Novotel wing.
Hotel is full of guests, connected with Novotel as well. No attention for single guest. There is melt in my room. All is dusty, not cleaned. The bathroom is dirt everywhere. THE WORST THING WAS AN OLD URINE STAIN BEHIND THE TOILET WITH ALL DUST AND SOMEONES HAIRS... Stucked drainpipe which is not regulary cleaned...
Ibis Ellerslie is an ideal choice for a short stay within the city fringe of Auckland. Check in / check out was quick and easy and we found all staff friendly, helpful and professional in their duties. The room, although smallish, was smartly configured to offer maximum space and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant served us 2 delicious meals that night. and the buffet breakfast was good quality and plentiful. Ibis Ellerslie have got a great formula and offer a perfect option if the location suits.
So disappointed at the expense of this hotel at well over $200 per night (each) for rooms that were so tiny that we were shocked when we walked in. You couldn't walk around the bed without moving sideways ! Nowhere to put your bags and nowhere to sit except on the bed. Tea/coffee etc was hiding in the wardrobe. Other TA reviewers have described the "bathroom" as a capsule... that's exactly what it was like. Dimensions were about 1.5m square. View was horrible - over to the BP garage. To add to the claustrophobic feel of the tiny room (even worse with 2 people sharing), the windows didn't open so there was no fresh air for 2 days ! Restaurant staff were friendly, but a little slow on a quiet evening. Reception staff very matter-of-fact, weren't interested in my complaint about the horrendously loud plumbing noises every time someone in a room closeby flushed the toilet. Constantly woke us during the night. What a terrible place to stay and at such an over-inflated price !
