We had booked our trip through a Groupon and this was the hotel that was included. The staff was wonderful - 5 stars all around. They were super friendly and accommodating. We ended up cancelling a night after booking a last minute excursion in Paihia and there was no hassle. A very pleasant surprise was when the concierge sent up a bottle of wine and a sweet handwritten note after we had mentioned we were there on our honeymoon. Our room and the hotel overall were very comfortable and clean. The only real downside to this hotel is that it's on a pretty busy street. So pulling out into the correct lane for where you wanted to go could be an ordeal. They also charge for parking, $15 per day. On the plus side, though, Ibis is only about a 10 minute drive to various things, including downtown Auckland, Stardome, and the aquarium. It's also only ~15 minute walk to Remuera Rd., which has a lot of different shops and cafes. I recommend becoming a member of the Le Accor loyalty program before your visit. It's free to join and members get free WiFi in their rooms (which you would normally have to pay for). They also gave us drink coupons to use in the Acacia restaurant for being members.
As we only needed to stay for one night, our Standard Twin Room was perfect. The palm trees along the drive leading into the hotel grounds are lovely. Reception staff are welcoming, efficient and friendly. There's a restaurant on the premises, so if you check-in late it's very handy. There is a charge of $15 for overnight parking on the premises.
Stayed 2 nights in the Ibis Hotel Ellerslie with a family member price was great as we booked the king room for 2 and it cost $111 per night thru the website we booked with, the first lady at the front check in desk was fast speaking and didn't help us much with the time the room would be free to dump our bags in, plus didn't give us our key when the room was ready. Bedroom was good the blinds helped a lot with sleep as the made the room pitch black. Bathroom smaller then the picture shows but shower was good, Staff at the restaurant were Awesome and kind making it a nice experience. breakfast was good they offered the basic cereal, muesli toast with yoghurt and fruit or bacon eggs and sausages, dinner pricy and small had to send two muscles back as they didn't open in the cooking process, chef was kind and gave me 5 in return fully cooked. easy travel from hotel to anywhere in Auckland's CBD.
We booked a room an hour before checking in, the process was smooth, the staff were fantastic as was the clean and tidy room and Comfortable bed. Lots of parking outside and it’s easy location was easy to find. There was no noise from the road nearby and the buffet breakfast was a winner! Great selection on offer including the ability to order something additional to be cooked for you. We will be back!
As expected a trouble free comfortable stay in one of our favorite Auckland Accor Hotels. We have a few more stays planned in Jan 2018 .Parking can be tight & parking charges are a bind & perhaps could be better advised on the website.
Great service from the front counter staff, easy check-in, room size a bit tight as Ibis standard, but clean & tidy, everything are there, food at restaurant are as good as other hotels but not exciting, easy carpark entry & exit with charge.
The Ibis Auckland Ellerslie Hotel is not into the center of Auckland but very close to the train station bringing you very quickly to the center (e.g. Viaduct Basin, Princess Wharf or Queen's Wharf, etc.). The rooms were a bit small but very clean and well designed. The sleep material was very good and comfortable (e.g. pillows, matτreσσ, linen, etc.) so that the sleeping experience was a relaxing one. The staff was friendly and ready to solve any problem could be arisen. The complimentary breakfast was good having a plethora of fruits to be eaten. I liked my stay at the Ibis Auckland Ellerslie Hotel and I would not hesitate to stay again if I will be in Auckland, New Zealand, in the future.
My partner & I stayed at the Ibis on our first night of our NZ holiday. The hotel is clean & modern but the stand-out feature was the staff - who were so accommodating, friendly & smiling! Check-in was a breeze with complimentary services provided by the duty manager for being an Accor staff member & loyalty member. The hotel is in a great location & walking distance to a number of places to eat/drink plus small drive to the city. The standard room (we had 1056) is small (typical of Ibis accommodation) but clean & well fitted with everything you need for a comfortable short stay, also found the bed very comfortable. Our complimentary buffet breakfast was amazing! I was very impressed with the range of healthy options (yoghurt, muesli, oats & huge range of fruits etc) plus a separate section of gluten free options, and the standard hot food & continental fare, coffee & juices. Definitely recommend it! Kudos to the fantastic team at Ibis Auckland Ellerslie, particularly the duty manager who I didn’t get the name of (sorry! cashier 105) who went above & beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. We’ll be back!
Obviously a budget hotel but everything did what it needed to do. Room was quite small but was clean and well presented. Shower and toilet pod were unique, being a semi circular plastic or fiberglass pod in the corner of the room. As long as you are not planning to spend long periods of time in the room ( other than sleeping ) its not really an issue. Have to say that the front desk staff were excellent, very polite and helpful.
Firstly I know that the ibis brand is a budget hotel. But this one is terrible. The room 1054 was so small like a shoebox. The bed was hard and you could feel the springs. It was not made well either with the mattress being exposed due to the sheets being too small. Bathroom was horrid. No sound proofing, herd all the Asian tour groups talking loudly in the hall at 6am. The only upside was a buffet breakfast being included. Next time though I'll choose another accommodation
