Our stay was good, but with a little more effort it could have been better! Happy with: We loved the distance to the Convention Center. The breakfast also was good for the price, we had a lot of options. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was decent and if you end up with a view to the beach it’s really cool, specially from the 4 floor and up. We loved that coffee and tea were available at any time so that made the stay nice. We visited on Valentine’s Day weekend and were grateful to receive a free bottle of water and a bag of Cheetos, but cookies or a couple chocolates would have been better. What could improve: the bathroom fan in room 412 is very noisy, also, one switch controls light and fan so we couldn’t just switch the noise off. The mattress was comfy but it deeps at the headboard so it gives you a sinking feeling. Maybe turning it around would help. The hall light seeps from under the door so we had to use a towel to cover it. The smell of fabreeze on the carpets and elevators is very pungent, maybe using baking soda helps instead of using something with many chemicals; the scent can be overwhelming and trigger allergies. To keep the outside looking attractive, a bit more effort should be placed in keeping the grounds clean. This should be done daily. We saw soda cans and other trash just thrown by the entrance. This is a good spot and you got something really great with Holiday Inn Express. Little details could elevate the experience a whole lot more.
