- love the location - love the hotels aesthetic - lobby is so much fun- pool table is great! - pool area is beautiful - we were a family of four in the bunk bed room- I liked it very much! Lockers are super cool and practical - ran out of hot water for my morning shower - floor tiles in front of ...
We normally rent a house when we go to Asbury, but we've stayed at the Berkley a few times over the years, usually off-season or on a week night, and it's always been great, especially since they allow dogs. Even though the location is absolutely perfect and the rooms are pretty nice, it's super ...
You know I always look forward to a nice hot bath but no bath. So, at least expected a Hot Shower and NOT. Water was warm and bathroom missing things. Terrible housekeeping cleaning and lack of care for their Motel, is just amazing to me. I guess they have low expectations for themselves too and ...
My sister and I had a lovely weeknight stay at this delightful spot. The front desk staff was efficient and extremely friendly. The room was well-appointed, clean, and quiet, with excellent water pressure in the shower. Continental breakfast was more than adequate to give us a start on the day. Highly recommended!
Great hotel, friendly customer service. I would only change one thing, the breakfast area to have more than one waffle maker. Too long of a line for it and it gets congested fast because of it. But had a great stay here.
My family of 4 stayed two nights while in NJ for a wedding. the only two issues were the pillows were half the size of normal pillows, and the water pressure was very low so that when flushing the toilet the tank took 10 or more minutes to fill. If one person flushed the toilet the next person had to wait for the tank to fill. I couldn't open the valve to increase water pressure myself.
Rooms are clean and maintained (there was a bathroom door latch improperly installed of which I informed staff). No-frills, easy in, easy out and reasonably comfortable. This was generally what I would expect for a sub-$60/day motel on the Jersey shore. I would rebook next time I am in the area.
Thousands of people flock to Asbury Park every year to see its wonderful attractions, such as the Asbury Park Boardwalk, which hosts parties and events throughout the year. More than 16,000 people live in the city, and the area is home to one of the best beaches in the state, according to a contest held by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium. Asbury Avenue is a long road that stretches across most of the city before ending at the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. A number of boutiques and stores sit along the road, as do nightclubs and restaurants. The downtown shopping district is also on Asbury Avenue, and the city recently renovated the area, filling it with a range of different shops and activities. While Asbury Park once had dozens of hotels along the road, only one remains. The Empress Hotel offers free parking for guests, which is a bonus given its proximity to the beach. Hotel guests can leave their car behind and get to the beach within 5 minutes. Every room in the hotel has a view of the swimming pool, beaches, or Wesley Lake. The hotel has its own upscale nightclub called Paradise, which locals claim to be one of the best dance clubs in the city. Those who want to unwind can go outside and spend time on one of the small tiki-hut-style buildings that surround the large swimming pool. Rooms at this hotel start at $105 per night.
Unlike Asbury Avenue, which runs east and west, Ocean Avenue runs north and south along the eastern part of the city. The road is only a few steps away from the beaches and is actually the last road before you reach the water. Most of the buildings along the road have amazing views of the ocean, and you can literally smell the sea air without leaving your room. The Berkley Oceanfront Hotel sits right in the middle of Ocean Avenue, and many rooms at the hotel have views of the water. Hotel rooms start at $109 per night and feature free access to a fitness center and outdoor swimming pool. A nearly 24,000-square-foot conference center is available for business travelers, and the historic building has large ballrooms available. The hotel welcomes pets, and the staff can handle special requests, such as a room with a refrigerator. The hotel offers high-speed Internet access for travelers, and the outside features small cabanas surrounding the pool. A massive renovation completed in 2007 updated the rooms and lobby, giving the historic building a modern feel.
Whether you want to visit the amazing nightclubs, take a dip in the water, or check out one of the historic structures downtown, you can do it all in Asbury Park. Visitors often visit the theater downtown and enjoy live entertainment at clubs like The Stone Pony. Save money on tickets to attractions and on affordable Asbury Park hotels at Orbitz.com.
