Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Sloterdijk Station3.0 out of 5.0

While on the map it probably looks a bit far out, it is only one train stop from Amsterdam Centraal, making it a good alternative to the expensive inner-city hotels. A downside to the location: There are hardly any restaurants nearby. There is a supermarket next door, though, with long opening hours - enough for a snack. The hotel is also right next to the Sloterdijk train and bus station – convenient for transport, inconvenient for opening your window. The rooms are reasonably sized (certainly larger than what you get in the city centre), have comfy beds and good curtains to block out the sunlight – I slept like a baby. The bathroom has a good size, with a generously sized shower; the only downside I could find was the breakfast, which is rather standard fare – not much to choose from, and it gets quite busy.
I stayed there for only one night. The room was spotlessly clean with really comfy beds, well-equipped with tea & coffee; the bathroom was lovely and well-fitted; the breakfast was excellent with both continental and cooked options, including plenty of fruits. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about places to see and the trains. Great location as train stop is right beside the station--two stops from Schiphol airport and one stop from Amsterdam Central. Spar convenient store is located next door to have food and drinks in a reasonable price. Would stay there again upon visiting Amsterdam.
I really liked this place which is so close to Sloterdijk Station (about 100 ft) and staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Even though it doesn't offer wardrobes or wall cupboards to store clothes, it has a open corner for that. Breakfast is not very convincing as I didn't see any variation over three days. Short walk stretch between station and hotel is not the best neighborhood that we came across is Netherlands. It was dirty and often crowded with people and often there were odd looking people. But hotel has access control to floors with rooms, so it is not a concern.
Very busy hotel , most probably because of the location , but they need to improve customer service . Rooms are very clean. They do not have umbrellas in the hotel . No suggestions how to get to the city, just take any train going to Central station ... Breakfast is good . So if you will be in Amsterdam stay at Holiday inn Express South, small hotel, but you will get great customer service and care of you.
The staff were very welcoming and willing to help. A pleasant greeting at the reception where we left our cases. We had a room not facing the railway station on the 4th floor which was clean and fresh with a lovely bathroom. The bed was too soft and springy for our liking but it was generally quiet in the room. There was some noise from the street when the window was open in the evenings but it stopped by about 2200 hours. Breakfast was good even though busy and fresh food was brought out for people repeatedly. I think a handbag was stolen one morning as we were warned by the staff one morning to be careful with bags. Lots of continental breakfast variety. I have to say again that the staff were more than happy to help and the hotel is one stop from Amsterdam Central on the Metro which runs very regularly and two stops from the airport, 4 minutes and 10 minutes respectively. A great stay in a great location.
A few busy days in Amsterdam, at Amsterdam airport went downstairs got a train.... these trains are fast, often and clean, afteer 15mins max we arrived at Sloterdijk Station... hotel next door to station. checked in fast and was offered either a high or low floor.. we stayed in 635 facing station... yes you hear trains...but the window do open and shut , blackout curtains and slept like a Baby....bed comfy, tv etc...bathroom large shower very powerful...clean room, breakfast good..dnt expect a fry up.... continental style, coffee machines, juices, fruit, toast, pastries etc. we would stay here again if we visit the city again...
Hotel was very good. Very clean adequate rooms. Breakfast was quite busy, but good variety of food and nice. Transport is right outside and very easy to work out. Our room was at back of hotel and it was quite noisy from trains etc,but didn't spoil our stay. Would definitely stay here again had no problems whatsoever. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is a Holiday Inn Express so size is rather small but serves us well since it is only one hop away from Amsterdam Central. The station is right next door from our hotel and a minimart is tucked away to serve the hotel and visitor's everyday needs. Service is good, front desk is attentive and willing to help. Bed is adequate, room is clean but the elevator is very busy and taking sometime to just getting in the queue. Free breakfast and could get very busy in the morning. Value for money. Recommended.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast is included and very good. WiFi is free and very good. The location is outstanding -- it's next door to Sloterdijk station, which is then a six-minute train ride to Amsterdam Centraal. The room was slightly small and the two single beds were right next to each other. The beds weren't all that comfortable, either. But with clean rooms, free and excellent breakfast and an ideal location, the price is hard to beat.
Stayed for 3 nights here with friends.... pleasant staff and you can have a good breakfast before starting your day out...efficient transport by train, bus or tram and it is just beside the hotel. We got the 3 days pass 33Euros... and it just about covered everything.... visited the windmills and was able to spent 2 hours by the beach as well... As flight was early on our day to leave... HI gave us a breakfast to go!! Not bad... Very good visit to holland...
