Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Sloterdijk Station3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is adjacent to Sloterdijk station, with quick connections available to Centraal and Schiphol, as well as more distant destinations such as Den Haag, Rotterdam, Arnhem and Nijmegen. The number 12 tram takes you to the Museum area of the city. The facilities in the room were quite basic. We had a wet room, which was fine, but there was no safe. The bar area in the hotel was pleasant, but although breakfast is free, it wasn't the best. There was a reasonable selection of pastries, but no hot options at all except for some lukewarm boiled eggs. I paid a little under £115 per night over three nights, which is reasonable by Amsterdam standards.
After getting our bearings, this hotel's location was great! 3 minute walk to the Sloterdijk train station, 5 minute ride to Amsterdam Centraal, and the world was our oyster after that! The hotel is pretty basic--it is a Holiday Inn Express, after all. The room was small but well appointed. There was a TV, desk, water cooker for tea and coffee. No safe in the room. Bathroom was fine--good shower, has a hair dryer. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was basic but good--cold cuts, cheese, fruit, breads, boiled eggs, cereals. There is a Spar grocery store just outside the hotel. There was also a restaurant just outside the hotel, but we didn't check it out. We enjoyed this hotel enough for it's cost and availability for transportation that we will stay there again.
Only a minute from the Sloterdijk train and metro station, and with a tram to the museums at your doorstep, and a bus to Central Station too, this hotel is very conveniently located. It is very new as well. But it is also the worst HIE I’ve ever stayed in...you hear the trains at night and I am not a light sleeper. There is no safe in the room. No shampoo, conditioner or hand cream, only a single liquid soap dispenser. While the TV has several European stations, there was no CNN and no BBC (except BBC 1,2, and 3) which means no international news. The breakfast was spartan. The only eggs were hard boiled. No pancakes like in US based HIEs. No bacon or sausage. Alright for a quick overnight stay, but not for a 2-3 day business trip.
Great hotel - ideally placed for trains, buses and trams into Amsterdam or out to the coast. Warm, welcoming, helpful staff. Spacious rooms - clean with good sized bathrooms. Quiet, despite being next to the railway. Amazing buffet breakfast included. Only slight downside is that there are few places to eat nearby in the evening ( and expensive) unless you are happy with fast food take outs. Thank goodness for the well stocked Spar store next door and their super, good value, ready made salads!
The hotel is vey convenient for easy access to Amsterdam central, with excellent and frequent public transport links. The staff was brilliant -every single member, from reception staff to the restaurant staff who cleared the tables, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless and although functional, was comfortable and adequate for a short stay. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would happily return there.
The Holiday Inn Express Sloterdijk is located just alongside the Sloterdijk train station, one stop from Amsterdam Centraal station. It is very well connected just 7 mins away from central amsterdam with trains leaving every 10 mins. The hotel is very nicely decorated with ample bathrooms and large shower. It is a 3 star hotel with 4 start facilities. Highly recommended !!
I recently stayed here to attend a exhibition at the nearby Rai. The location is great close to the subway and exhibition hall. Staff are friendly and helpful room are clean and good size, the hotel was full and still very quiet and comfortable.
Super convenient for Amsterdam being right next to the station and just ten minutes by train to Amsterdam central. Staff were very helpful but sadly that’s where the good review ends. We were kept awake ALL night due to the restaurant opposite playing incredibly loud house music ALL night. When I went down to complain at 8am (the music was still going) the receptionist, whilst very helpful in moving us, gave a response that it should have finished at 4am (!!!!!!) and that everyone is told. 1. It didn’t stop at 4am (like that would have been acceptable anyway!!) and 2. We were not told anything. I am an IHG Platinum member and specify my requirements for a quiet room. This was clearly ignored and a whole night of missed sleep absolutely not appreciated. Couple that with the fact that the bed was perhaps the most uncomfortable bed I have ever (not) slept on it was a pretty horrible experience! Every spring could be felt and my husband and I both had painful backs the following morning. The mattress definitely needs replacing. Breakfast is fine and travel connections are good but I couldn’t recommend it other than that.
Stayed for one night, room was clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent - helped out with looking after luggage. Breakfast facilities were good. Location was handy for transport to and from airport and into city centre. The room was overlooking the railway tracks and was really noisy, glad we'd packed ear plugs.
I stayed here with my husband for 5 nights in October. On arrival, the staff could not have been nicer, and helped us with a few geographical questions, and how best to travel into town. The room was fairly standard, but very clean, and the bathroom was brand new and very big. The toiletries were restocked and contrary to other reviews, our room was cleaned well. My only issue with the room was the lack of hanging space and the fact there was no safety deposit box. Breakfast was included and the continental breakfast provided was great, better than many other hotels we have visited. The restaurant was restocked regularly and very clean. The location of this hotel was amazing, the 12 tram takes you right into Amsterdam central, with links to all other routes, and the train takes you into the centre too. This hotel is also on the airport train route. If we return to Amsterdam, we would stay here again as transport links were a huge plus. The hotel staff were great, friendly and very helpful. We could not fault this hotel
