Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Schiphol

Hotel restaurant not open during lunch or on weekends. No eating places within walking distance.

Excellent place to stay. Very good breakfast as well.

Following a Holland American cruise and transfer to airport with "windmill tour", I was beginning to lament not making hotel reservations for a property in Amsterdam Centraal, vs the HI Express Airport. This HI Express property was nearly a perfect location, a 10 minute (or less) walk to the Hoopdorf train station. $12 round trip to Amsterdam Centraal . . . 25 minute ride downtown. We walked and walked the downtown, did several walking tours and of course canal tour (recorded tour monologue -- surely the briefest/sketchiest tour commentary in recorded history for a 1 hour canal tour! Disappointing). During our 3 days of walking the downtown and observing many, many travelers towing their luggage to their downtown hotels from the train station (140-150 lbs over cobblestone for blocks and blocks.), we were thankful we had decided on Hoopdorf Holiday Inn. We thought the HI delightful. Room bright and clean, although a tad small, but not in the least a problem. Comp breakfast really nice!! with cheeses, breads, yogurts, beignets, pastry, cereal, juices, coffee, etc ... nice change from the typical waffles, scrambled egg stuff.

Great for a night layover between flights, shuttle and close to airpot

This is our second stay there ,staff very helpful, good bus service to airport and on time.

the staff was very nice. They were accommodating. The facilities were great. New building with modern amenities. Loved the breakfast!!

Early flight in the morning, but we wanted one more night in the city. The Holiday Inn Express was just what we needed. Simple and clean accommodations, convenient shuttle service, helpful staff, and a great breakfast selection. Can't really complain, especially given the price. The room lacked a safe and a fridge (we put our cheese along the windowsill for lack of a cooler place) and the shower was slow to drain, but we managed. If you need razors, toothbrushes, etc., you'll have to ask for them, but they are available. Bring your own shampoo/condition, unless you don't mind the body/hair combo wash the hotel provides. The staff gave useful advice for going into Amsterdam as well as getting back to the hotel (Use the shuttle from Schipol. It's easy, and the shuttle drivers are so kind!). Everything was no fuss whatsoever. If you're in transit or only have a day or so in Amsterdam, the Holiday Inn Express is IT!

I fly to Europe a lot and there are many times i fly through Amsterdam. This is my first choose of hotel for overnight lay over trips. While this is not a hot spot location, there is not much to do around, no restaurants etc still it is a great convenient location with easy to find shuttle service. Always extremely helpful drivers. Keep in mind that shuttle back to the airport is not free, but come on.. Rooms are very cool! Modern, clean, fresh! Highly recommend.

I work across the street and stayed here for a night because I flew into Schiphol late and wanted to sleep for as long as possible. The entrance is a bit difficult to find, but once you're inside, they have a decent lobby with some concessions, in case you want a snack or drinks at any hour. The double room is small but has everything a business traveler would need, including adequate outlets and a desk. The bathroom was clean and a decent-enough size. The breakfast was sufficient, I was quite content (boiiled eggs, breads of various types, cheeses and meats, cereals, etc.)

The free shuttle to the hotel with great staff was such a nice touch. I felt at home for my last night away from home. Lovely room, be careful of the light button its right next to the emergency button, whoops! All was good the staff was so nice.

Great place to stay for a layover, very modern amenities, staff extremely friendly and helpful only 10 minutes from the terminal on the shuttle (which is 7.5E on the return leg). Excellent Dutch style breakfast (i.e. NO huge amounts of fried fatty foods).

Fantastic getaway with free internet and free breakfast but the location is not the best.

Hotel was clean and about a 10 minute ride on the shuttle bus. I was stopping overnight as I waited for my flight the next day. Shuttle bus is free to get to the hotel from the airport but they charge you 7.50 Euro per person to get back to the airport. The hotel is in a business park area and there is not many restaurants withing walking distance. The breakfast is good.
