Smell of weed in the hall ways by the room, inside the room the key card switch was broken. I have stayed in other Bastion Hotels around the city in Amsterdam they are super good. Just didn’t expect this here.

Reception was friendly and quick. I was given a room on the 4th floor almost at the very end which made me walk a long way. When I got there I saw that the toilet seat is unhinged and I’m glad I didn’t use it yet or I could possible fall off. Reception sent an employee for the room across and when I checked out the bathroom the one side of the toilet seat is loose as well and wiggles badly but not as bad as the first room. So, I decided I have no more energy to ask for another room and just lived with it.

There was some construction at the entrance which was okay. I had reserved the room for the night before I arrived so when I did get to the hotel very early the next morning, a room would be ready and waiting for me. I did email the hotel ahead of time to ensure my room would not be cancelled and they said it was fine. When I got to the hotel they had to go and search for a room for me and i didn't understand why a room wasn't already set aside for me. It took about 10 minutes to find a ready room which was fine. I didn't know I had to hit the elevator call buttons for each elevator to see which one would arrive faster and didn't know I had to use the room key to get in the elevator as well as use it for the door to get in the hallway for the room. My room was way far down about 2 rooms from the end of the hall. The hall had sensor lights and they only went on when i got closer and it was a little strange. The room was clean but housekeeping never came in to empty trash or change out towels. I called the front desk to get new towels and waited on hold for over 15 minutes to get someone. Then i had to go down and get the towels because there was no one available to bring them up. The outlets to charge your phone while you sleep is in the middle of the bed, it is very awkward. you have to be careful how you sleep so you don't pull the plug out of the socket and wake up with uncharged devices.

It would have been nice to have the room cleaned and coffee restocked. For even a better experience, it would be great to have slippers and a robe like other hotels I’ve stayed at. The pool sticks need to be fixed as well. Out of 6 sticks, only one wasn’t broken at the tip. Made it difficult to play doubles

The minute I got to my room, I had to ask for housekeeping to come vacuum. Large dust balls with hair on the floor and leaf debris. Also got hit with an unexpected 12 Euro tax at checkin. No indication this was expected. I did not have to pay this at check in with my hotel in Maastricht. Housekeeping only happens when requested, which is fine with me, but when I asked to replenish coffee, cream and sugar, they didn’t come. No room service. You can order food to go and pick up to take to room. You cannot charge anything to the room. Anything ordered at bar or restaurant must be paid unless you are there on company business. Restaurant food was very good as well as breakfast. Morning coffee is free. Beds were old. They have a mattress topper which made it ok. Bathroom sinks did not drain well. Shower was good. No luggage rack so luggage had to be on the floor. Wifi good, tv good with adequate channels. Overall stay was ok. Nothing to rave about.
