My friend & I visited the hotel In May 2017...we had a great time . Lovely people, very nice hotel. We only went B & B with a travel coach company. The breakfast was not that special, but the staff were amazing. Drinks in the evening were quite reasonable, hotel was spotless. The rooms & beds very comfortable The first day we had a guided tour tour of Amsterdam then spent the rest of the day in Amsterdam which was a real nice place, we had great fun . Day two we went to Zaanse Schaans ,A lovely little Dutch town, well worth the visit. Then onto Volendam probably the highlight of the weekend ..
We had the pleasure of visiting this hotel once again a week or so ago with Crusader Holidays. It has to be said it is one of our favourites and in such lush green surroundings this time of year, on the edge of the countryside. This year we stayed on the second floor in room 201, which was most excellent, very spacious, well serviced and comfortable. Although at the front of the hotel with a well used road nearby, the noise was minimal and we slept very well. There is a bit of aircraft noise, but not enough to disturb us at night. The decor in the public areas of the hotel is of a truly grand and first-rate style, one cannot fail to be anything but impressed. The hotel does not provide an evening meal as such and there is no evening entertainment - no problem for us. There is a well stocked bar where light meals can be obtained. Otherwise just round the corner there is a restaurant 'Nice!' which some visitors use, we have done in the past but were very disappointed with it this year and will not use it again. A few steps further on is a bowling alley with a more than adequate, and cheaper, but restricted menu. Breakfast in the hotel is very good, although as one would expect, more the continental style than English. It is always nice to be recognised by staff on a return visit and this was the case this year. The location is about half an hour or just over by bus from/to the centre of Amsterdam, the 170 bus stops right outside. There is a tram service but a bit of a walk to the station. All being well, we will be back again next year! Highly recommended.
The hotel is about half an hour from Amsterdam and a public transport bus route (170) stops outside, about 5 Euros one way. Everything is fairly modern. Room we had was front facing, clean and tidy. Staff were friendly at all times and were helpful in arranging taxis etc. Breakfast only which was the normal continental fare. They need to up the quality of the hot breakfast items, scrambled egg, pale sausages and very poor baked beans. Go for the continental stuff as they had a good selection of meat, cheese, bread etc. There's a restaurant around the corner which is very good (Bistro Nice) and a bowling alley offering snacks etc. I would stay there again.
A great hotel with excellent service and very friendly staff. The rooms (Junior suite) is very big and the bed is very comfortable. Bathroom has bathtub and shower. Toilet is separated from the bathroom. Breakfast is very good with a wide variety. From the airport take the bus 199 and get off at the station Nesserlaan West - around 25 minutes. To the center of Amsterdam take the bus 170 - Rijskmuseum around 30 minutes, Centraal Station around 45-50 minutes
We chose to stay here rather than in Amsterdam as it seemed to offer better value for money than staying in the city itself. We felt it also offered us greater flexibility during our stay. There was a small car park although attached to the hotel and literally next door is a tennis centre, restaurant and bowling alley with ample car parking. The bedroom ( a "junior suite") was spacious and comfortable. A good sized bathroom with an amply powerful shower. The room was on the third floor and served with a lift. We had a small balcony overlooking the not particularly busy main road with two chairs. The breakfast was good enough - pastries, toast etc. You could order an omelette and coffee and tea was readily available (had to ask for decaff). Next door to the hotel, the restaurant was very good indeed although was very quiet the night we ate there. We went 10 pin bowling twice (25 euros for an hour including shoe hire). Great fun and lanes available straight away on both nights. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Getting in and out of Amsterdam was really easy - the bus stop was literally opposite the hotel, cost 5 euros and took about 45 minutes to get to Amsterdam Central Station. The buses run every 10 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes in the evening. The bus stop for the return trip (again 5 euros) is just outside the tennis centre. I understand there is a small fitness suite at the hotel but we didn't use this. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again should we be visiting the area again in the future.
although i have a house in amstelveen while the renovations are going on a hotel is a nicer place. the staff is amazingly helpful. parking is easy to get in and out of always a plus in this city. the breakfast is good and plentiful. plus it is easy to get in and off the highway which is a really big deal. convenient to the bowling center and the tennis center as well.
Base for touring surrounding area made to feel very welcome friendly and helpful staff all the rooms very large and good great breakfast plenty to choose from would definitely recommend this hotel . ps on leaving they presented the club with a large chocolate bunny much appreciated thank you .
Returning home after a week in Europe. Wanted a hotel convenient to AMS airport without the traffic hassle of staying in Amsterdam. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. Nice room, good breakfast, and 15 minutes from AMS.
Love this establishment. Rooms comfortable. Great breakfasts and dining room. Friendly and helpful staff. It is a little far from central Amsterdam - about 35 minutes on the metro and a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the closest metro.
