I ¸waş in Amsterdam two month ago when was The Kings day. We slept in Bastion hotel. I find hotel hotel nice comfortable and they have nice and very helpfull staff. The only thing that is not so good is that the hotel is not in centre and you need to walk about 10 minutes to the nearest train station.
Hotel is wery far away from city center, looks like a upstate hotel. The hotel is located between the gas station and the train station. Impossible to sleep because the trains are so noisy. The room has the smallest bathroom I've ever seen in my life. Taking a shower, washing your face, or brushing your teeth was almost impossible. It was the strangest wardrobe and safebox I saw. Safebox was very light and had not been fixed at any place, someone entering the room can easily take it away. the room did not look very clean. as a result I do not recommend anyone.
Staff are Nice however service is something that you will not get. Landry - staff can not pick up and delivery on our room.¨. Breakfast - very basic and without a lot of healthy options Rooms are ok toilet not so much Close to trains but if you stay face to the other direction you will not hear it. If it was half price would be fair.
10 min walk from metro (50,51), and 20 min drive from air port, 12 min by taxi to city center is a confortable location. Hotel rooms are small and bath room is so small that elbow can not move freely for washing soaps. Dinner is reasonal price (24€), each with a beer.
If you intend to have a professionnal stay in Amsterdam West or Oud-Zud don’t plan to have night in the Bastion Hotel. The place is old, noisy and the food at the restaurant is in the same orientation : desperate !!!
Nice hotel, location was out of the city and only a short walk from the metro. I wouldn’t recommend walking into Central though as this took me and a mate over an hour! Spacious room and when we did have a problem with my first room, they moved me to another room. Wouldn’t stay here again though, purely because their wasn’t much going on apart from the bar
I had a couple of issues when I was in the hotel. First of all, the bed is not so comfortable. I have back issues and those days were terrible for my back. I am usually ok with the beds of this kind of hotels because I do not need special bed or something like that, but this was not the case. On top of that, one of the days that I went to have breakfast we had a small visitor there (a mouse). I talked to some employees about that, but in the minutes I stayed in the restaurant, I didn't see any action to remove the mouse. For instance, one of the employees I talked to, was pretty close to the mouse and she was not affected. When I saw that I decided to leave the hotel and I did not had breakfast in the other days.
It is good for a business trip, only. Far away from the city centre, not recommended for visiting Amsterdam. Very small bathroom. Room size is ok and the cleaness, as well. Very good internet connection. Excellent staff. Good breakfast.
Expensive and very far away from the city. Might be good for business trips but clearly not if you want to visit the city. Walking distance to the next metro station is more than 10 minutes without no side walks nor bus nearby. Also, please change the mattresses.
i stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and this is one of the hotel where rooms are tiny and we need to squeeze into our shower room/bathroom. Airconditioning was pathetic after repeated complaints to the reception. i would not stay/recommend this hotel for any business travellers. Need to walk for 10 mins to the Metro station. Breakfast is not in line with other business hotels
