Handle fell off restroom door, no chairs to relax in, very minimal furnishings. Reasonable pricing.

Pretty good place that lacks amenites of much more expensive places. Rooms are fairly quiet and comfortable, but small. Note, however, the US30 highway is very close, so if highway noise bothers you, be absolutely sure to get a room on the north side of the building. Wi-Fi is provided free, and it works well. They also have a two-computer center in the lobby for those who don't bring their own. The room televisions have a lot of HBO and MAX movie channels. Management is respectful and pleasant. So you know, the only "hot" portion of the beakfast consists of make-your-own waffles and biscuits and gravy. However, there is a nice peppermint candy dish in the lobby, and they provide after-dinner cookies. If I do need to go to Ames again (both kids now graduated from Iowa State, so, questionable), I'd definitely consider this place. Funny thing noted: the three parking places in the lot designated "COMPACT" are huge, bigger than any of the others in the lot.

I originally booked one night, but ended up staying 2 nights in the accessible room. I did not need that particular accommodation, but it worked well for my purposes. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. The exercise room was small and in the basement level, but worked just fine. The breakfast was standard but fine. Coffee was good.

Very reasonably priced hotel with friendly staff and clean, cozy rooms!

Elijah at the front desk was very helpful and kind. Give him a raise!

Since I booked rather late, there were a few places with reasonable prices, and this is one of them. When I saw "Wyndham" I was thinking, this must be ok. The breakfast that was included was good for the price. No fresh fruits except bananas, but that's ok. There are 3 types of cereals, boiled eggs, biscuits & gravy, yogurt, waffle maker for waffles, donuts, muffins, bagels, orange juice & apple juice, coffee, etc. all you can ask for in a regular breakfast. As one enters the bedroom, the light switch was lit but it is by the toilet entrance. One has to reach over. After a few times, one knows where it is. Unfortunately, the queen size mattress has 'lumps' on both sides and center, but I managed to sleep ok. There is a small refrigerator, but I think it is not cold enough. The faucet by the sink drips at times; I managed. For the money that was paid, this place is ok. They have thought of the basic essential needs. There is no coffee maker; I hardly use them anyway... another space occupier. I did not have time to check out the exercise room. The room is very small. the queen size bed occupied 3/5 of the room. The room was quiet. I did not hear showers next door; no noise from the corridors. There were sufficient parking spaces. Fellow travelers were pleasant.

Booked the room based on price and space in room. Overall the was clean, spacious for a small suite and, as noted in survey, "OK." But the plastic shower floor was dirty, the toilet seat loose. Breakfast was a little on the light side of comparable offerings.

Staff was unprofessional right as we walked in. Room had stained towel and breakfast had brick hard biscuits and ice cold gravy Disgusting!!!

Stayed here because it was one of the cheaper options available. It was not a bad experience, but also wasn't too impressive, just okay. The sheets and comforter felt a little thin and the pillows weren't that soft, but the breakfast was good. I would stay there again.

The room was clean, the staff was nice, and everything worked well during a crazy weekend when we had to help put on a wedding. My husband didn't like the breakfast as much as at smaller hotels we have stayed in, but that and location are the only reason I didn't give five stars. (It turned out to be farther away from the church than some of the hotels that others in the wedding party were staying at.)

We spent 5 nights here and highly recommend this hotel. Everything was great!

We were in town for a conference at Iowa State U. The room was ok. It was not overly expensive so we didn't expect much. It was a place to lay our heads.

The room was nice enough, but the staff place us next to a room with an unattended dog. The poor dog was left alone for hours and of course was barking. We were trying to get our toddler to sleep. We ended up having to move rooms in the middle of the night. The staff did not help us move and refused to give us a discount for our inconvenience. There was also no consequence at all for the negligent dog owners. I asked to speak to the manager in the morning, but the manager did not come to work that day apparently. I asked the manager to call me when he/she got in. That call has never come. There are lots of other hotels in Ames, Iowa. Choose somewhere else.

1. I drove 10 hours to get there, arrived in the evening. Did not realize until later that the tub was dirty. I went and got bleach to wash it out. Sink started clogging up. It say kitchenette, oh NO. It’s I small sink, microwave and mini refrigerator. No stove, No stovetop, or No oven. Kitchenette is a small kitchen or part of a room equipped as a kitchen. My kitchen has a stove. Don’t want to comment on breakfast. I love breakfast food, favorite meal of the day. My feeling were hurt.

The staff was very efficient and the room was lovely.

Just an overnight stay while at a conference in Ames. The room was good and clean. My only complaint would be that the AC/heater made a terrible clicking noise every time before coming on - woke me up a few times in the night. The place had a breakfast in the morning, though I had to be places early, so did not have time to check it out much, but there were several people in there making waffles and eating when I left. The front desk staff was pleasant enough. With the exception of the heater noise, it was just what I was looking for at a good price.

The staff was very friendly. Room was clean and the location was easy to find and get to. Could use some more parking though.

Staff was courteous, cookies at the front desk are always a plus, continental breakfast was decent, room was clean... Cant really beat it for the price. Would stay again.

The rooms were clean and staff were nice. The hotel was close to highways, food and gas stations.

We spent one night at this hotel and were impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the overall value for the money. When we called ahead to see about checking in early they agreed to switch us to a room that was available so that we did not have to wait till the usual check in time. Excellent service and the breakfast was plentiful and more than we expected.
