My $130/night room had a courtyard view of sorts. Even with all the lights on, it was dark. I tried to open curtains (one heavy blackout curtain hidden by normal looking one) in addition to the open drapes which though open allowed no light in. There was no obvious way to pull up the curtains over the window so I rolled them up and tied them up on top of the window frame and there was light! Lousy view but light. The curtains over the window are likely cold/heat barriers to make temp. control easier but who wants a room that is like a dark cave? Also, they charge $3 cup for coffee in the breakfast area but it is free near checkin area 30 feet away. BTW $13 is steep for a breakfast often free at lots of other hotels. They also offer a bottom rung cable offering from Direct TV; almost every decent program and movie would cost extra. My basic Dish package at home is far better. I'd shop elsewhere for a good hotel in Ames, Iowa.

Flimsy water cups were supplied for coffee; improperly charged for the room and had to call to correct; stff no longer wearing masks for Covid but would not clean room.

Very noisy Heating/AC systems. Kept us up half the nighy

Overall was very nice. One of the treadmills didn’t seem to work and the sink drained really slow, but nothing that couldn’t be easily worked around. Everything felt and looked clean, and enjoyed our stay.

Great location with very nice rooms but the lighting in the rooms was not very good

The hotel is nice and clean. The pool is very small and cold.

Clean, location friendly, and friendly staff. Easy check in.

It would be nice if breakfast was included with the room.

Close to all the locations. Thank you very much. Thank you very much again and again and again. I completed more than 50 characters. Hope you are happy.

Hotel has had some upgrades but you still feels worn out/heavily trafficked. Bed was so uncomfortable, mattress was hard and all the bedding is scratchy/loud. Usually love Hilton Garden Inns but this one is not my favorite at all. Breakfast is $12.95 per person BTW.

The hotel its self was good but we had a bad experience with the hot tub. I spent 15 to maybe 20 minutes in the hot tub and it completely ruined my bathing suit. It went from a dark grey swim suit to a light grey/white color for the parts that were in the water. I told the hotel of the issue and they we very nice and would check on it, however I would still be very leery of using the hot tub! They use way too many chemicals.

I have stayed in this hotel many times when visiting Ames but this time was not a pleasant experience. The room was not up to expectations for the price. The shower head had VERY little pressure and it was difficult to shower and the toilet would not flush properly. I was very disappointed.

hotel was clean--staff very friendly and helpful--had to pay for breakfast--I am used to Embassy suites where full breakfast is included in room fee

I've now stayed in 3 hotels in Ames and this is the best. Beautiful facility and great staff. Everything was perfect and it is a similar distance from ISU as the other hotels. That said, no free breakfast and it is a bit more expensive but in this case you get what you pay for.

Hotel clearly takes advantage of Iowa State activities raising rates well over other hotels. Room was fine. Would have thought breakfast would be included given the $160.00/ night rate in Ames Iowa! Will stay at a different hotel next time ---not worth the extra price

The hotel was very clean & nice. Beautiful flowers & landscaping! I was impressed with how large our room was. Stayed with my family & plenty of room for all. Wasn't impressed with the price of breakfast/food that the hotel offered!
