We spent one night here on our way west. The hotel appears to be newer and it is very clean and well kept. The check in was ready on arrival. There is a pool and hot tub. The room is very spacious and clean and everything appears to be in order. Nice place.
Comfort Suites has always been our choice of hotels to stay. Tonight we are staying in Amarillo Texas. We were amazed by the huge suite we stayed in. The whole hotel is EXCELLENT. Skip all the other other hotels and stay here! Clean, modern and such friendly personnel at checkin!
We started here for a night, on our way back to Dallas from New Mexico. We were glad we found a place to stay, as most of the hotels were already booked up. The room key was not ready on arrival and we only for one, because “ they ran out of keys to give”. We were also required to return the key. We travel a lot and this is the first time, we have been asked t return the key or pay a $2 fine. I wonder if tits because the key has a fancy chip. The pool had a sign on it that said closed but we saw people in there in the hot tub. ( may be the hot tub was still open??!!). The room was very big. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The breakfast was fine. They should really look at things before they put them out, for example Bananas. The bananas looked less the appealing. They were green and brown. It was a good place to stay for a night.
I stayed here for my birthday May 2017 and was experiencing room issues and I had a reservation for 3 nights and they had me checking out every morning. My card keys never worked and even my brothers truck got broken into. Upon checking out, the front desk lady offered to comp my stay. Then Nov 2017 the hotel decided to charge my card for the stay. I called the hotel and the lady I spoke to just yelled at me and told me that they ran my card there was nothing I can do about it. The lady that offered the comp stay was no longer working there so she said there is no proof that I was comped the stay. I called my card company and they opened a claim and eventually ended up in my favor. Then in Dec 2017 the hotel ran my card again for the stay and this time I had asked to speak to the Manager who I believe is named Sunil or Suril and he was completely inappropriate. He told me many times that it was not his fault I was broke and looking for a handout and that I was too poor to pay my bills. He said I was like every person in this country who wastes money on hamburgers and ice cream and doesn’t want to pay their own bills. Instead of helping me figure out what went wrong, he yelled and made fun of me. I told him he was completely unprofessional and I would like to speak to someone else and he told me to look for them my self because he was no longer going to help me and to stop looking for free stuff. I called customer service and spoke to Gretel to see if they could help me and they said I could not file a complaint after 90 days of my stay and there was nothing I could do about it. I don’t understand how this hotel can charge me 5-6 months after my stay. This company is ridiculous and I can’t believe there is no one that would help me figure out what went wrong. Instead they tried to ridicule me. Those people are horrible! Should’ve sticked with Hilton.
Stayed overnight on 21 December. Wonderful hotel. New, clean, accommodating. Great work out center and pool facility. Close to an Olive Garden so dinner was great too. Room was as requested. Staff was outstanding from arrival to departure. Beds were great. Heat was great and it WAS cold that night.....23 degrees with a wind chill of 9 or thereabout....cold, folk. I am from San Antonio and it was still 60 degrees back home. Anyway, I will stay here again anytime I am in Amarillo. Thanks Comfort Suites...you are a "suite" deal for those needing a great place to stay in Amarillo.
This is a nice new property and their family suite was great! But the lights in the fitness center didn’t work, the WiFi didn’t work and the breakfast area did not get cleaned up at all while there. The coffee was like warm as it had not been refreshed.
Our family stayed in the family suite while traveling through Amarillo after Thanksgiving. We were greeted warmly when we arrived by the front desk clerk. The room was a typical two queen room suite with a sofa bed and bathroom. It connected to a simple, but spacious room with a king sized bed. The beds were comfortable, and the pillows were some of the best that I have experienced in a hotel. The carpet could use a good cleaning, there were some white marks on the striped carpet that appeared to be gum. The breakfast was ample with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and yogurt. Lot's of families were traveling and the hotel was full. The hotel staff did a good job of swiftly clearing off tables to make way for newcomers making their way to breakfast. It was a blessing to be able to stay together as a larger than average family in the adjoining two room suite. Kudo's to the Choice Hotels brand for making this a reality!
My family & I have stayed at this property multiple times and have yet to have a negative stay. The location is convenient, located on the south side of Interstate 40, exit on Western. The property has been well maintained, with an attractive exterior and interior color-scheme. The staff is attentive, always allowing us to upgrade when availability allows, the housekeeping is above average, and the breakfast staff helpful (kudos to Grace, who always has a smile and welcoming disposition!) The guest hallways are wide and the double queen room with partial dividing wall and sofa is very roomy. Rooms facing north, give a view of the interstate, many chain restaurants, and Tascosa High School...rooms facing south, give a view of the neighboring and commonly-owned Candlewood Suites. The hotel is situated far enough off of the interstate, that I have never noticed traffic noise. Shopping is within walking distance (Burlington, Mardel's, Petco or Petsmart, etc...) Consistency. Value. Asthetics. I have experienced many different hotels as a guest and have never had a negative stay at this property.
Road trip back west led me through Amarillo and to Comfort Suites. Having never stayed at this chain before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. This was a lovely hotel with a wonderful staff that would greet you whenever you walked by the front desk, acted as a concierge for guests regarding local restaurants and made sure that we felt welcomed. The location is within walking distance of several great restaurants and is off of the interstate enough that road noise isn’t a problem. A comfortable bed, clean room and great staff will all result in a return visit in the future.
We went to Amarillo for a quick trip - we live in CO. We were there for less than 20 hours to watch our son in a Div II Regional XC race so I was really pleased to to find the Comfort Suites at a great rate of $63.00. Now this was a non-refundable rate but we knew we would not cancel so I booked it. The hotel was very nice, very comfortable and very clean (this will be a consistent theme) - in a good area (near many restaurants and other amenities). The room was also very nice and also clean and comfortable. I know it is kind of an odd thing to mention, but the shower was really nice - didn't want to get out. The bed was also - this is getting boring and repetitive - very clean and comfortable. So very clean and comfortable seems to describe this hotel. They offer a free breakfast which offers the normal stuff. There was one difference - the waffles - they come out in the shape of the State of Texas. The pool area is large and the hot tub is huge. They have an exercise room that contains two treadmills and a stationary bike, an elliptical machine and a weight machine. Would stay here again - no hesitation.
