Residence Inn by Marriott Albuquerque North3.0 out of 5.0

This was my first Residence Inn experience - there was a great bed, a lot of room, wonderful amenities (Paul Mitchell hair products!), a nice pool, with a place to cook out. I would definitely stay there again. It was all top notch and very reasonable in price, too.
I have stayed here before and it was a very nice place. Well Marriott has gone down hill or this location is trying to spoil the reputation. The furniture is worn, torn and dirty. Also I made reservations months ago and asked for a top floor so I could have a view. They put me on the ground floor. I won't be back.
This is an extremely clean, comfortable and convenient hotel. The hotel staff was outstanding, especially the continental breakfast crew. Penthouse suites do not have elevator access but only needs 2 short flights of stairs. The only negative we encountered was insufficient hot water between 8 and 10 am.
We had a 2 bedroom suite on the top floor. Room was clean and even had a fireplace. They staff was extremely helpful and nice. Breakfast in the morning had several items to select from and food was keep fresh and hot. We were only here 2 days but look forward to returning in October.
I have stayed at this hotel several times. Last two times my reservation meant nothing. In December I booked a 2 room suite and it was not available for any of the nights I stayed that week. In March 2017, I booked again and when we arrived, no room at all. Only room we found was downtown, took an extra 2 hours which at 1am after traveling is terrible. No call from manager again. Nothing. We had guaranteed late arrival, room was held with a CC. I am Marriott gold status thinking of moving back to Hilton.
This inn is nearby where we conduct or business. The bathroom exhaust fan sounded like it was ready to go and was noisy. The bedroom window has a screen missing from the 3rd story and it is also hard to close. The drains need to be flushed with a drain cleaner. But, the breakfast is a let down. First hardly any good choice, no english muffins or orange marmalade. However, they have a soft drink dispenser which is great when it's u locked during the mornings and special snack times Monday thru Thursday. They do have a green chile stew which is really good when you add the Andouille sausage and flour tortillas.
This hotel is well located within close distance to numerous restaurants yet just enough off the beaten path to be quiet. Facilities are well-maintained, customer service was excellent. A few minor issues with the room such as tea/sugar not replenished one day and a dust cloth left on top of a lamp another day, but overall comfortable and a good value for the price.
I was late and the last person to check in on Sunday night for two weeks. My room was close to highway. The next day I asked if I could move. The front desk staff informed me they were fully booked for a week. The following day, the front desk staff informed me a room was available further down the hall to a very quiet room. Thank you very much!!! I live in the country and am used to silence... Part two: Housekeeping and the Lobby staff were friendly and efficient. I look forward to my future stays at the Residence Inn Albuquerque North! Please keep up the GREAT Service! Thank you again.
Clean rooms, great staff. Complimentary, "one choice" lite dinner Monday- Wednesday which didn't fit our "diet," but that's not their fault! Good, "free" breakfast. It's all just what we have come to expect from Residence Inn.
I am a former Albuquerque resident and have to return for business occasionally throughout the year. I am also a platinum Marriott member (137 nights last year, mostly in full service properties). And I can say without a doubt that the Residence Inn North at the Lane @ I-25 is the best Marriott offering in the Albuquerque area – including all of the full service properties whether they are corporate or franchised. All the full service hotels are tired (to put it mildly) and outdated, and their staffs don’t really see customer service as part of their jobs (really?!). Each and every staff member with whom I had the chance to interact at the Residence Inn SMILED at me and asked how my day was going, and if there was anything they could do for me. That includes the housekeeping staff, the front office folks, the breakfast prep cook… all of them! The property is a pretty typical Residence Inn which is nice since I know what to expect, and it is clean and everything in the room worked. It is rare that I prefer an extended stay hotel over a full service one but in this case, I will continue to stay at the Residence Inn on my trips to town this year – and kudos to the management and staff because YOU make the hotel better than the rest!
