Flying from Sacramento

Sacramento and the surrounding area are served by Sacramento International Airport, located about ten miles northwest of the downtown area. Long-term parking is available in the open lots and garages of Terminals A and B for a fee of $17 per day. You can save money by parking in the economy lot for $10 a day, and complimentary shuttle service is available to the terminals. If you’d prefer not to drive, several taxi companies serve the airport, with the Sacramento Independent Taxi Owners Association being the main transportation provider. You can also get prearranged shuttle service and public busing through Yolo. Once you’ve arrived at the airport, you can grab a sandwich at La Bou or a drink at Starbucks on your way to the gate.

Arriving in Salt Lake City

Flights into Salt Lake City land at Salt Lake City International Airport. If you’ve rented a car, rental facilities are conveniently located on the ground floor of the parking garage across from the terminal buildings. Taxi service is available outside the baggage claim of both terminals, and public busing is available through UTA (Utah Transportation Authority) every thirty minutes throughout the day from the parking garages. Several hotel shuttles and limousine companies also are available to pick you up. Salt Lake City is extremely warm in the summer, with high temperatures in the upper 80s, so you’ll want to pack light clothing. Winter, is typically cold, with lows in the 20s. Bring extra hats and gloves so you can hang out on the slopes from morning until night.  The Wasatch Mountains provide some of the best skiing in the country, and you can choose from several hills and resorts. If you’re a history buff, check out Temple Square, the historic heart of the LDS Church. Big Cottonwood Canyon is a beautiful place to spend the day communing with nature.
