Whether you’re traveling on business or making multiple stops on a trip to Europe, flights from Frankfurt to Amsterdam can save time. One of the most important business hubs in Germany, Frankfurt is home to glittering high-rise buildings and modern culture. Amsterdam is a city straight out of a storybook, with meandering canals and colorful buildings. With Orbitz.com, you can book flights and save on every part of your journey.
Frankfurt is served by two airports. Flughafen Frankfurt-am-Main is the city’s main option and Germany’s largest airport. It is located about 8 miles southwest of the city on the E42 highway. The easiest way to get to the airport from the city center is on lines S8 or S9 of the S-Bahn train system. A one-way ticket costs approximately €4. Depending on your point of origin, the ride takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Taxis and buses are also available at the airport. If you are driving to the airport, the best parking deal is in one of the vacation lots, which charge €49 per week. A second, smaller airport, called Frankfurt Hahn, is located about two hours outside of the city. It serves many budget airlines, including Ryanair. Bus tickets between Frankfurt and Frankfurt Hahn cost about €14.
With its central location on the western coast of the Netherlands, Amsterdam is a major travel hub for Europeans and international travelers. The Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is located about 10 miles from the city center on the A4 highway. The easiest, fastest, and most comfortable way to get from the airport into the city is by train. Trains run regularly, 24 hours a day, and cost less than €4 per person. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes and ends at Amsterdam’s main train station. Although travelers visit the city year-round, the most popular time to visit is during the summer, when temperatures reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don’t mind temperatures that drop below freezing, visiting Amsterdam in the winter means shorter lines and cheaper hotel rates. Some of the most popular attractions in the city include the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum. The area is also popular with cyclists and kayakers.
Whether you’re coming from Frankfurt to Amsterdam for a quick visit or staying for multiple weeks, both cities offer convenient travel options to make your trip more comfortable. With Orbitz.com, you can book flights from Frankfurt to Amsterdam and manage all of your travel details.
