When you fly to Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) land six miles from downtown Rochester, and it's an easy journey into the city via RTS Bus 2 or one of the many free hotel shuttles.
Situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, Rochester is a family-friendly city known for its waterfalls and its packed calendar of festivals. With a proud inventive heritage, its nickname is Kodak City, after George Eastman founded his photography empire here.
Rochester's three best museums are very good places to start exploring the city. Children will adore the Strong National Museum of Play, and the Susan B. Anthony Museum & House offers a fascinating collection of exhibits relating to women's history. The Eastman House rounds out this downtown trio.
While there, you won't fail to notice the spectacular High Falls - the best viewing point is the Pont de Rennes pedestrian bridge, and the visitor center has lots of helpful information for your trip. The nearby Neighborhood of the Arts is a good place to explore on foot, with lots of public art spaces.
If you enjoy the Susan B. Anthony Museum, you'll love the Women's Rights National Historic Park, which lies just a short distance away from Rochester in Seneca Falls.
