For most tourists, visiting Buffalo means one thing; Niagara Falls. The Falls are just 19km away, making the airport the most convenient of the four serving this world famous waterfall. The Buffalo Airport Shuttle will take you directly to the Falls in about 30 minutes.
Once there, you can do a great deal on foot, including crossing the Rainbow Bridge to the Canadian side, but do make sure you have any necessary documentation to allow you entry into Canada. The city of Buffalo itself is famous for its heavy winter snow, but there's something to see and do here all year round.
Flights into Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) serve the entire metropolitan area. From the airport, take the NFTA Metro Bus #24B to downtown, where you can enjoy the world class Buffalo Museum of Science and the Ira G. Ross Niagara Aerospace Museum, among many other attractions.
Free firework displays take place over Niagara Falls during much of the spring and summer, several times a week, so check which days before you visit. Early in the morning is the best time to dodge the crowds at the Falls; the State Park is open 24 hours a day, and sunrise over Niagara Falls is a spectacular sight.
