St. Louis, Missouri, is a cosmopolitan southern city on the Mississippi River, with a distinct French flair. As you fly into the city, you will be greeted by a memorable view of the Gateway Arch, one of the city's most identifiable features.
Departing from New York
New York City has three airports that serve travelers in the area. LaGuardia Airport, located in the borough of Queens, is approximately 25 minutes from downtown Manhattan by car. American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Delta Connection offer nonstop flights from LaGuardia to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Getting to LaGuardia Airport from anywhere in downtown New York is relatively easy. Hail a metered yellow taxi on any street corner in the downtown area. The ride will cost between $35 and $50, depending on traffic and your starting point. The city bus also goes to the airport at a cost of $2.25 per adult for the regular bus and $5 for the express bus. If you choose to drive to the airport, long-term parking is available at a rate of $33 per day. While LaGuardia Airport is not particularly modernized, it does offer options for you to grab a bite to eat before a flight, such as at Dunkin' Donuts or Five Guys.
John F. Kennedy International Airport, also located in Queens, is approximately 12 miles from lower Manhattan. Only Delta Connection offers nonstop flights from this airport to St. Louis, but it is easy to arrange a connecting flight to St. Louis going through Washington D.C., Atlanta, Pittsburgh or Philadelphia. JFK Airport can easily be reached by taxi, bus, subway and AirTrain monorail service. Parking at the airport costs $33 a day at the closest airport lots and $18 a day at the long-term economy lots located approximately 4 miles from the terminals.
Flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport is also a viable option for travelers. This airport is located in Northern New Jersey, approximately 45 minutes by car from downtown New York. Southwest Airlines and United Express offer nonstop flights from Newark to St. Louis. Taxi, bus, train and AirTrain monorail service are available to get you to the airport. Airport parking costs $33 per day or $18 at the long-term economy lots. Many dining options are available while you wait for your flight, including Subway and Starbucks.
