It’s not convenient for people using trains. The road getting to the hotel is very slippery, although it might be only a very short distance walking from the bus terminal to the hotel.

I was excited to stay here because the picture advertised for the room. The picture of the room on the website had an amazing bathroom, a big room, and a massage chair. When I got to my room, it was nothing like what was shown in the picture. It also smelled heavily of chemicals when I entered the room. I won't be coming back here.

May be the 2nd/3rd ranked hotel in Yamagata

Yamagata Kokusai Hotel in general is ok. It's less than 10 min walk from the Yamagata JR station. Near the hotel it should be the busiest area in the whole city. Perhaps one of the best choices in the city due to the fact that there isn't many modern and well-furnished hotels in the city. You simply can't compare this hotel with those modern and well-furnished in big Japanese cities such as Tokyo and Osaka. Ideal for "vintage lovers" or those wish to experience 80s/90s Japanese hotel design/style. The temperature in the room was too high and the exhaust fan didn't work. The service was ok and you can communicate with the staff with simple English and body language. A fairly good value hotel choice.

This place was close to Yamagata Station and made for a nice centralized area to visit many Yamagata attractions. The room we stayed in was a fairly large size and had a good view with a massaging chair. The only complaints we had were that the hotel seemed a bit older and had an unusual AC system. You could turn it on/off and adjust the amount of air that blowed but it was up to the season/staff whether it was hot or cold air. We like the room to be a bit cooler in the evening and the air was already set to heat for the season according to the hotel. Otherwise the hotel was great and the staff were friendly. Yamagata has a different feel from Tokyo, take your time and enjoy it like the locals do. Yamadera is a 30minute drive, Mt Zao (or Okama Crater) just a little bit longer. You can also take a shinkansen south to Yonezawa and find a local restaurant to get some world famous Yonezawa Wagyu Beef.

Very friendly staff. Minimal but very clean, easy to use room. Stayed here twice already, and I have no complains. Coming back here again when I am in Yamagata.

A hotel I would return to.

A good and cheap jotel even at new years, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bathrooms were not totally clean, seeing under the sink while in the bath was unpleasant but otherwise the facility was good, the bedroom was very comfortable and modern however i did have to ask for a softer pillow. Its also very well placed, it is 5 to 10 minutes walk from the train station and immediately next to a coach station. It is also very close to a good number of bars and restaurants that you will need, as the hotel only serves breakfast.

We didn't expect much but the hotel turned out to be very good. Clean, comfortable and convenient for a reasonable price. Highly recommended for those who want to stay ina decent place without spending a fortune.

朝食に、目の前で焼いてくれたオムレツが美味しくて、おかわりしたくなりました。山形の郷土料理が小鉢に何種類も用意されていて、どれも美味しかったので、時間があれば制覇したかったです。一緒に宿泊した友人はお米の美味しさを絶賛していました。あと、濃厚なヨーグルトもおすすめです。
