The property was conveniently located lakeside and across the street from the Eat Street area and downtown shops & boutiques. The breakfast was bountiful and we particularly enjoyed the ability to make our own fresh pressed juices and smoothies. The room was clean and spacious and seemed updated, although the bathroom seems to be in need of updates as the mirror was cracked, the tub grout was a bit stained, and the shower curtain was too short. Those cosmetic deficiencies aside, it was a nice place to overnight en route to Auckland.

Great location. Evening check in staff really friendly. Property definitely showing signs of decay. Cleanliness concerns: hair everywhere in the bathroom when checked in, dusk accumulated on surface, sheets and pillow cases with stain, A/C dusty. Mattress soft and out of shape, pillows too flat.

Location was excellent- breakfast and lounge area was great. Rooms were nice - could use a bit of updating in the future - but overall the location next to restaurants and shopping all in walking distance.

Only value of this worn down hotel is the location

We reserved 3 nights in this hotel starting from Christmas Eve 2024. We stayed only that 1 night and then moved to the Pullman. We have never done that before, but we felt very uncomfortable within the hotel, and for almost USD 300 the night, you expect something better than a worn down hotel. We felt cheated. The hotel is 3 star hotel at most, the lobby is very unwelcome, the smell from the hot spring goes inside the bulding to the elevator area. The hallway smelled and the rug needs urgent change. Everything in the room is worn down, from the cheap plastic seat in the toilet and other furniture to the rug and curtains. The breakfast area was like a circus, dirty floor (dirty from their own employees) and the food was very bad. Do not trust any youtube video talking about this hotel, cause I think the hotel itself is trying to trick you with those videos. We felt so unconfortable after breakfast that we moved to the Pullman nearby. We asked though Hotels.com a reimbursement for the pending nights, but the manager in charge denied it. We did not want to get mad on Christmas day and ruin it by fighting with this person, so we just moved out from the hotel. We lost almost USD 600.00 with this hotel and as I explained before, it is the first time that we feel like this. This hotel is very shameful for an ALL hotel. Hope they change management and renew the hotel. You can get much better deals and amenities on many other hotels. Specially for the price. I wish this helps.

Not as shown in the photos - Disappointing

I booked 2 rooms. The customer service was good however, no help with luggage or even getting a trolley. Room was filthy, hair over the walls in the bathroom, carpet pulling up, wet carpet in 3 areas, leaking fridge, mouldy bathroom, rusted rails, dusty, dirty toilet, no plug, needs a complete renovation. All our products were empty and even after a room clean, no one cleaned or refilled anything. Great air conditioning and views. Bed was good.

Not cheap. Had what looked like a pubis hair a hotel towel. Stain on the pillow cover. Door did not bolt shut. Bed 2/10. No facial tissues provided. Bathroom flooded after shower. The location is good. Paris - the registration lady - was FANTASTIC! Bar/restaurant is nice. Free street parking. Cleanliness sub par. Hotel thermal spa teeming with kids. Would not recommend for adult couple seeking clean hotel.

Excellent hotel across from the lake

This is our second time staying at this property and again enjoyed our visit. The rooms are large and clean, close to the lake and Eat Street. Breakfast buffet is very good. Made good use of the pool area with its mineral spa pools. Nice modern hotel in a convenient location.
