Hotel Circulo is truly one of the most visually stunning hotels I have ever stayed in. It is clear that an incredible amount of thought and attention to detail went into the design. The aesthetic combines elements of pop art with what felt like subtle inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright–style architecture. The hotel was impeccably clean, smelled fresh, and the quality of the furnishings and décor did not go unnoticed. I was genuinely impressed. The photos and reviews alone convinced me to book a night for my daughter and me while we were in town for a cheer competition.
While the hotel itself is fantastic, the surrounding area did not feel as safe as I had hoped. I was unaware that the room doors face outward toward the street and sidewalk. We were given a corner room on the third floor that was clearly visible from below.
Shortly after checking in around 6 p.m., we decided to go out and find something to eat. As we were leaving our room, a man walking on the sidewalk below made eye contact with my 12-year-old daughter standing outside the door. He began shouting up to us, saying, “Hey! Yo! Stop! Don’t come down just yet! It isn’t safe down here.” This was followed by unusual laughing which made it unsettling. My daughter was immediately frightened and started crying. Although I knew we were relatively secure since the elevator required an access code, the interaction made me hesitant to go downstairs, worried the man might be waiting for us.
