Front desk did not acknowledge our arrival until 5 minutes later, facility was older, in the middle of the night (2am) the fire alarm went off and no communication were provided. We had to flag down a fireman in the hallway to ask what was going on.

Humid room

Initially, upon arrival, our room felt like it had just been rained on. I have COPD and I could barely breathe. Just that was the reason for the low ratings. But we called the front desk and things changed. Initially they offered us a different room. But we were tired and had just unpacked, so we went with their plan B. They put in a small dehumidifier and hoped that would fix the problem. It was still very humid in the morning. We stopped at the front desk. The handyman took action. He got a heavy duty larger dehumidifier and a ionizer, for when we left. Amazingly, we came back to a what seemed to be a new room! We had to spill out the water several times a day but the room was just fine. This is the third year we’ve there and I think we’ll come back again.

The hotel stay was great there were a few spiders and spider webs in one room and then in another the appliances were not connected and we didn’t realize so our food went bad. Staff was great though.

The room our first two nights was extremely damp and mildew-y. We changed rooms for the last two nights and the next room was a little less damp, but we felt pretty crappy the first two days after sleeping in there..

It was first time a Motel has asked for additional $50 upon check in - I had preregistered month ago. Would like it to be returned next morning not three days later to bank account. Staff was VERY helpful

I checked in late, as I usually do. And the hostess was very accomadating! Understanding my forgetfulness and working with me. In the morning another hostess and I had a nice chat about my stay and in the afternoon after I had checkedout, I called to see if I could use their hotel restroom to clean up before flying home. She offered me the pool shower room (more privacy than a guest bathroom). Restaurant adjacent to the hotel had very good food and I will stay here in the future and recommend that everyone else do the same if they need a hotel in the Arden Hills area.
