made a late reservation due to no light in Houston. i have 3 children age 5, 3 and 16 months arrive by 11pm.. couldn't be happier that my children and wife felt at home. peacefully. slept well. Ver hard to travel with 3 children and a young wife am just thankful..

This will be my first review on Orbitz. We are Houstonians and lost power for the past five days. The stay was good but spoilt during checkout. The communication was terrible. I asked for a late checkout earlier to the incident and I must have misunderstood it was okay to check out at noon. The manager called the room at 11:03 and said it is time to check out. I told him I had asked for the late check out with the other person. He said I am the manager and she doesn't have authority to allow late check out and I need to be out of the room now. He also said he was going to fire her if she allowed late check out. He was going to check the video to see what was agreed. The manager is treating late check out discussion like a crime. This is bit of an overreaction for the situation. I felt unwelcoming immediately. I can tell the manager does not have any level of empathy and does not belong in the travel industry. No patience, no willingness to de-escalate a situation or listen, jumping to conclusions and accusing the guests! We left at 11:30 am with a resolve of not coming back to Best Western!

I can’t imagine this building meets code. The room next to me had the TV on till 2am and I could hear every word. I could feel the steps of the people above me. In short, though the place looks clean and recently built, sleep next to a room with any level of noise is hard. I had to pay $50 to check in early, and though I was told I could check out 30 mins after checkout, I was told 15mins after checkout that we needed to clear the room or there would be a $25 charge. The front desk staff was very pleasant, I assume the push to monetize any deviation from check in and check out comes from the ownership.
