Aston Waikiki Sunset

Booked a king suite but was given a two bed double. Room was dusty, broken furniture. Hostess was supposed to call us about extending our stay but never called. Not a horrible experience but could have been better. Kitchenet is worth the extra money.

Liked the ocean view. Did not like that many washing machines were out of order. I had to walk three levels down to do my laundry and each level only has one set of washer/dryer.

Our view from the room of the ocean was spectacular! The room was very clean and up to date with a full kitchen (microwave, full stove/oven, sink, full sized refrigerator, and utinsels). No dishwasher (except for your own 2 hands). The bathroom was well equipped with several towels and a full bathtub/shower. The parking... it's VERY tight putting a car into the stalls. Paying for parking is the only complaint I'd have. It's not clear at all how that's accomplished.

Overall I like this hotel. Very convenient location. Friendly front staffs. Good for family. But the room is old and they did not have a housekeeping for cleaning our room every day of staying. Parking system’s very confusing and their parking agent is very rude. There have a part of renovation which they should put the sign.

I like that you were able cook. What I didn’t like was that they don’t keep up with maintenance on some of the items they provide like the coffee pot and the iron. Both items weren’t working which was disappointing. Besides that everything else was great.

It was a nice short stay and I want to come back in this hotel.

Great location.

The refrigerator wasn’t working good. Especially freezer not working good. Not producing ice and all my ice cream were melted down. Reported to front desk but nobody showed up until we leave (6 nights). Besides that everything was good.

Distance to beach was great, lots of shops. Customer service were nice

It had a cool pool

The location was great. It was in walking distance to the zoo, aquarium, grocery store, beach, and main streets. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Our city view was beautiful from our large window and balcony. Our room was equipped with a small kitchen and we used the refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, plates, glasses, excreta. We wanted to cook more, but the stove did not have a vent so the range was not really usable. They offered free dvd rentals, but the equipment that played them was unpredictable. The mattress on the pull out sofa was uncomfortable.

I don’t know why people have so many bad reviews of this property, we had a really good time, place was really quiet and decent but the view OmG beautiful, spectacular had a whole Ocean view plus Diamond head view! I stayed in the 26 floor!!

I hate to give negative reviews but here was mine and my sons experience: Upon arrival I was given a room and the entire floor smelt like a terrible gas leak. I was given a nee room. The elevator are the absolute worse elevators EVER one elevator was taking us up and down up and down to the point where we had to get off and get into another elevator. There are renovations going on one elevator is literally plywood. You are charged and amenity fee when there are really NO amenities; you have to make a pool reservation; no housekeeping or towel service no laundry service no room service so I’m not really sure why that fee is necessary… PROS: The staff was very nice, the location is walking distance to everything at night the street is a little sketchy but great during the day. Would I stay here again; NO.

I liked it had a kitchen; however basic kitchen items were lacking and in need of an update. There was not housekeeping unless requested (no issue with this)…but the unit can & probably should contain a broom. I requested a broom- one was delivered….in a dirty garbage bag without a dustpan. The security person I had to go through to utilize the pool was not helpful. She provided incomplete information for their extreme rules and would not get additional paperwork (waivers) when there was a cancellation (by another party) and I attempted to get two additional family members into the pool area. The security and parking attendant both implemented ‘covid rules’ in a capricious and arbitrary manner. The building had plumbing issues and there was constant work being done (not an issue…these things happen); however shutting off the water supply (which is needed for the air conditioning to work) was definitely unpleasant. The front desk staff was great. Overall, I was quite disappointed. Considering I paid thousands of dollars for this vacation- I wish I would’ve stayed elsewhere. Very disappointed.
