We stayed at the wonderful Colony Hanalei Resort and had an amazing experience! I highly recommend stocking up on supplies in Hanalei before checking in. The view was incredible, and we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves for most of the trip.The neighbors were friendly and often waved hello, which added to the welcoming vibe. The nearby restaurant, Opakapaka Grill and Bar, was a bit overpriced, but a few of the dishes were absolutely bomb especially on Taco Tuesday, which we definitely recommend checking out!The only small thing missing was a sponge for the sink.Overall, it was a fantastic stay and extra special because I got to propose to my now-fiancée at Tunnels Beach during sunset. It was pure magic. Thanks for providing such an unforgettable location!

A week in Haena

Unit was fine. Called the property management company twice for help with no WiFi and the overhead fan in the secondary bedroom not working. They had a power outage before our arrival and the WiFi came back on the 2nd day. Maintenance never did show up to fix the fan issue, even though they were promised to come twice.

Oasis!

We loved this property! The location is perfectly out of the way from too much traffic or tourists but still close enough to everything we wanted to do or see. So close to the beach. The condo was perfect for what we wanted and it was very easy to get a hold of the property managers if we had questions. Will be dreaming about this place until we return!

Hanalei Colony Resort

The location was great and the unit was perfect for the two of us. There was no TV (fine for us), WiFi was good. We were 100 feet from the beach and could walk to Tunnels Beach via the beach walk. We will definitely stay here again!

Great but...

Awesome place. Loved everything about it. View of the ocean, clean, very comfortable bed. However....we were never given the key code for the swimming pool area that also included the laundry area. I emailed 3 times with no response. Not acceptable.

Amazing Location

This is our second stay at the Hanalei Colony Resort and it is the best location on the island. We enjoy our quiet morning and nights watching the sunrise and sunset. The North Shore has the best beaches on the island and they are all easily accessible from Hanalei Colony Resort. If you want a nice stay away from the hustle at a big resort then this is your place.

As described. Management and check in were excellent. Kitchen just ok, but not a big deal since we planned to eat out the whole time. Would love to have salt and a small thing of cooking oil, but we got by fine. Would stay here again. Excellent coffee place next door and the landscaping was amazing.

Would definitely return to this property if we’re lucky enough to visit again. Clean, spacious, and beautiful location. It’s definitely secluded, which is exactly what we wanted. Short drive to beaches, restaurants, and other activities on the North Shore.

Kauai at Hanalei Colony Resort E1

We really loved this place. We were hiking the wilderness trail and wanted to be close to the trailhead. This place has a good view of the ocean and access is less than 20 yards from the porch. A five minute walk down the beach gave us a calm zone for swimming/snorkeling when we visited 9/29-10/8. We saw turtles there and a resting beached monk seal. We would rate the restaurant at 6/10, its convenient, beautiful view of the water, we loved the fries and poke nachos. And it has a large bar area. The rest of the food there was ok. The condo is very close to Hanalei Bay, which has more food options. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were high thread count and really nice. We didn’t cook there so I don’t have anything to say regarding the cooking supplies. The condo can easy give privacy to two bedrooms by pulling wood dividers closed, and each “bedroom zone” includes a bathroom. Or you open it all up, as we did. There is no air conditioning, it’s ceiling fans, screen doors and windows, we found this to be sufficient each day. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, simple, comfortable, beautiful location on the north shore.

Amazing site

This is our second Hawaiian holiday (Maui, Oahu and Kauai) and Hanalei is our favourite spot so far. The apt is comfortable with good kitchen supplies, reasonable beds, showers and good beach supplies ( chairs, umbrella and snorkel masks). The internet is good but there is no AC and no TV. The resort has a very nice pool and a great BBQ area with tools, fridge and covered seating for a large family. You need to go elsewhere for a swimable beach. Restaurants in town we liked included Chicken in a barrel and the pizza joint in town. Postcards restaurant is a way overpriced place with small portions.. don’t bother.. Bar Acuda sounds great but make reservations way ahead of time.. we couldn’t get in.. Hawaiian surfing adventures in town is a great place to learn the basics.. Overall we’ll be back to Hanalei and probably back to this resort…

Heavenly Place

Absolutely loved our stay at E1. The location was wonderful. The view, incredible. Such a peaceful place and friendly overall. Enjoyed the walks on the beach, the snorkeling around the bay at baby beach, and enjoyed the rainbows. A healing place and perfect. Thank you!

Peace of Heaven on earth!

One of the most beautiful places I have visited that still feels like a step back in time. The resort is perfect with the beach right at your feet and the beautiful lanai to enjoy your breakfast or a glass of wine. The pool and hot tub is surrounded by beautiful gardens. If you want to relax and find yourself this could be the place for you. It is decorated with the island flare and very cozy to call this place home for however long you stay. Go and see for yourself!

Kauai Hanalei Colony Resort

Early March, one week stay. Just myself and wife. Everything was excellent, though perhaps a bit dated. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Quiet, peaceful, a bit out of the way, but right next to beach. Restaurant next door. The gift and coffee shop had the best coffee drinks. Parking was very convenient, and there were hand carts to move luggage.

Kauai Relaxation Stay

The grounds are nice and well kept. It appears that most, if not all, of the units have an ocean view. It is quiet except for the ocean sounds and some filtered highway traffic. Indoors is nice, comfortable but not spectacular. The bathrooms are 1970's motel style. The kitchen is barely adequate (for a state renowned for it's coffee I was disappointed with the $25 Black & Decker coffee maker). For two couples, don't expect intimate privacy; the room dividers are slatted and open at the top. I'm not sure what kind of bed the couch makes; we didn't attempt opening it. The king bed was comfortable The pool/spa/grilling area is as nice as represented, but good luck finding it, Access is distant from most of the units.

Relaxing Kauai location

E1 is in good condition and the view from the lanai pleasing. Beds are comfortable. The newly remodeled pool is lovely. The best part is being walking distance from Tunnels Beach.

Wonderful condo and property near remote tunnels and kee beach snorkeling

It felt secluded but also near enough to everything we needed. There is water pump noise outside the bedrooom. Overall very nice stay near the beach. Great pool.

Perfect North Shore stay

Condo is exactly as described and very well equipped. Quiet location on the property. There is a condo above and could be quite loud when the residents there were home. The unit doesn’t have AC but we were very comfortable the entire week without it. We will definately stay here again!
