The service was amazing! The front desk was very helpful in getting taxis and helping us get our luggage to our rooms. Alexander was wonderful showing us around the rooftop garden and recommending The Lookout restaurant at the top of Carlton Hill. Highlight of our trip.

My second visit and it was a major disappointment. Love the garden area and the physical space called "The Snug," although not the staff. Love the front desk staff. Polite and eager to please.

Very good location. Easy walk to the Royal Mile (Castle and Holyroodhouse), great restaurants, shopping, etc. Staff was VERY helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom excellent, except for one little thing: while I am a BIG advocate of conservation, I am not a fan of a nearly waterless toilet. To all the staff at The Glasshouse, BRAVO on helping to make our trip to Edinburgh an excellent experience. Michael and Don

A big plus about staying here is that it is only a three minute walk from the last stop on the airport train. The staff seemed more than usually helpful, from our greeting at registration, to the breakfast room manager, who brought me a specialty tea list, when I hesitated over the usual Earl Grey v. English Breakfast. The decor was functional, with cool sculptural twists, and our room was oversized, with an enormous bathroom with excellent shower. Hated to leave after only one night.

The staff treats you like they have known you for years.

Great Hotel, location is superb. Very clean and modern, excellent staff

overall, this was a great hotel, however we did have some misgivings: room service was very inconsistent-six towels were taken and only one clean one was left, the milk wasn't replaced one day, and there was an alarm emergency at 3 am in the morning which meant the whole hotel was evacuated. on the bright side, the room was incredible and the staff were incredibly friendly.oh, and the scottish breakfast was delicious.

This is a unique property. Originally a church, it has been remodeled into a very modern and comfortable hotel. The original facade remains, so the inside is a surprise. Staff is very attentive and helpful, without being overbearing. They made us feel like valued guests. Rooms are large and well appointed. Bathrooms very nice, with a tub and separate stall shower and upscale toiletries. We mentioned on arrival that we were celebrating our 50th anniversary and when we returned to our room from sightseeing, there was a plate of sweets with a handwritten note from the manager. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The glasshouse was a cool building with a really convenient location. The staff were very friendly & attentive. The room was very clean although a little on the small side, as was the bathroom. Thankfully I was traveling alone, 2 people wouldn't have any room to move & certainly couldn't get 2 people in the bathroom at once. It might have been my room as I'm not sure how typical it was. It was one of 2 rooms tucked away under the stairs at the honesty bar so I have a sneaking suspicion i may have drawn the short straw and ended up in an odd room. That said staff were great & hotel was cool. I'd recommend it but next time if I stay might ask for a room other than 92 just to see if the other rooms are bigger. The photograps on the website certainly make them look roomier.

The hotel staff was very friendly. I'm a mis-fit traveler type as I look like I should be staying in a youth hostel. Some hotels have been blatantly rude about this fact that I am not perhaps their type of clientele. The staff was so unpretentious. My bed was the most comfortable, the room gorgeous, modern, and had a lovely view up to Calton Hill. The food was delicious and I will stay there again. Hell, it wasn't even expensive to stay there.

Very clean, very helpful, very professional, walking distance to everything. Rooms were very nice and spacious.

Beautiful room, gracious staff, wonderful view. A real sanctuary in the busy-ness of Edinburgh.

Location was great for me to be with family

The hotel is very modern and cool. The rooms are all on one floor which has a gathering area with an honor bar where you took items and wrote it down in a book to be charged at check-out. There were comfortable chairs and couches surrounding a gas fire place. Staff very friendly. Hallways well decorated with occasional sitting areas. Rooftop garden with gorgeous view of the city. I would stay there again. The fire alarm went off at 8:30 am and we had to evacuate. It went well and was a false alarm, but very inconvenient.
