We've stayed in some really great rentals and some not-so-great, and average about 3-4 trips per year. What we loved about this property: Great location in a quiet neighborhood, close to amenities and easy drive into Dallas. The pool is lovely and very clean, however we didn't get to enjoy it since the weather wasn't warm enough. The beds are extremely comfortable, the bathrooms are updated nicely and the showers are great, the decor is tasteful. No issues with communication or accessing the property. What we didn't love about this property: No kitchen hand towels or hangers in any of the closets. The dishwasher buttons are worn, so we just kept pushing the buttons until it would start up. The dishwasher was ran before we arrived, however none of the dishes were put away. Not a single butter knife in sight, but lots of spoons and forks. SO much dog poop in the small grassy area of the backyard - my husband cleaned it up and filled two grocery bags quite heavily. We are dog owners and have traveled several times with our dogs, although not on this trip, but we have always cleaned after them. Not only is that not acceptable behavior as a renter, but it should have been cleaned up prior to our arrival. Overall, the good things and experience of this rental by far outweighed the bad. Would we stay here again? Yes. We'd love to enjoy that pool someday!

Great property! Very close to downtown Rockwall with excellent restaurants. Plenty of room and the manager was very responsive. The Galaga / PacMan game machine is a great bonus feature.

House was lovely, beautiful lighting features, however, there were multiple issues that need to be addressed. All the bathrooms had broken toilet paper holders, knobs in the shower kept coming off, no wash cloths, hand towels or mat in the tub to prevent slipping; no paper towels, in the kitchen. Bedding was delightful but the downstairs bdrm is not condusive for older clients, the bed was extremely tall making it challenging to get in and out of. The house has a lot of steps to the entrance, but was covered with pine needles/leaves making it dangerous for my husband and myself going in and out. Would not recommend for anyone with minimal disabillities.

This home was perfect for a weekend reunion with family. The bedrooms, large living rooms, and dining areas were perfect for a group of 9 of us to gather. One of the key features that attracted us to this home was the heated pool and hot tub. I contacted the owner via VRBO on Wednesday prior to our stay that started on Friday to have it heated but it wasn't when we arrived, which led to some disappointment and frustration in trying to get the pool heated for the next day. We also did not have the check in instructions until past the 3pm check in on Friday and we had to call VRBO who gave us the number to the owner and finally received the door access code. The home was clean and lovely but there were a few small repair items that need fixed in the home such as the toilet paper holders were broken in the bathrooms. The bathrooms are all upgraded and very nice but there weren't any wash cloths or hand towels. There was only one bath towel for each of us for the 3-day weekend that we stayed in the home. Overall, this was nice large home that enabled our family to get together over a weekend and we only had a few small frustrations with the expectation of the heated pool and spa being the biggest.

We were looking for a house that would comfortably house our family while we visited dear friends for Thanksgiving. This house was excellent, with particularly comfortable beds. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and the house is well decorated and truly lovely. I do wish a house this well put together had glasses for wine. There was one stemless and we didn’t find that until we loaded the dishwasher to leave. Even so, this was a small disappointment compared to all the good things this house has to offer. We very much hope to enjoy the house again when we come back to Rockwall, and I can bring a couple wine glasses if I really want to.

This was such a nice house - great accommodations for my family!!! Our host, Karla, was so friendly and helpful!!! The location was very convenient for us while needing to be in Dallas for a few days. I wish we could have had longer to stay to enjoy the area more.

Our stay was as perfect as we could have imagined, everything about this house was beautiful. Rockwall TX is a beautiful place also best to the lake. 1,000% recommendations to this place. My kids enjoyed the pool from sun up to sundown. The house and all beds where super clean something I don’t like about hotels are the beds and this place was super comfortable and well maintained. If I go back to Rockwall TX this will be the place I’ll stay at again without hesitation.

Overall the house met our needs. Pros: comfortable beds, great A/C great water pressure. Large pool and outdoor space. Nice TVs Cons: the outdoor space and walls to house were covered in bugs. I found a broom and cleaned the walls and cushions as best I could. Grill was too dirty to use. Comforters definitely need to be updated… all were dirty looking. Kitchen was very minimally stocked. Towels need updating. There were used soap bars left in shower so not thinking they were cleaned. House was tidy but not thinking it was cleaned by a crew. The few dishes they had were pretty much put away dirty. House did not smell clean either. Back door was unlocked when we got there. So the house could be great but fell short in some areas.

Perfect stay in the great state of TX!

My family and I enjoyed our time in Rockwell. Karla is an excellent host and was immediate in her responses to all of my questions throughout our stay. The home was very clean and was well stocked with everything we needed (laundry detergent, extra towels, dishes, bedding, etc.). The community is very safe and quiet with a beautiful park nearby. This is a great option for families or group of friends. I highly recommend!

House was perfect for my wife and I plus our blended family with 3 grandkids and 3 children (all over 25). Swimming pool is perfect! There isn’t a hot tub which in Rockwall summers why would you anyway? Had one issue but owner got it fixed asap We would repeat!

Buyer beware

My 3 children, husband and 90 year old mother in law stayed. We needed an iron. I found the ironing board, but no iron. When I asked the host where it might be, she responded, no iron. Traveling via airline, we had clothes that needed ironing. We had no hot water first day. I thought my daughter had just run it out in her 10 minute shower the 1st day, but the 2nd day, no hot water. I reached out to the host and was not offered any relief. I had to call my plumber in Florida to inquire what could be the problem. He told me it could be a problem in the line or a bad carburetor. When I reached out, all I got was more questions and no relief. My son happened to be determined to take a shower the next day and the cold shower he took seemed to work out whatever blockage in the line was there. When we checked out, I put all of the towels from the 3 bathrooms in the washer as requested. We loaded the dishwasher, emptied the trash, swept the floor, made the bed in the master. I made multiple sweeps through the house. After we left the owner harassed me. Claimed there was pee in a cup at the top of the stairs.. it was ginger ale. Three towels were alleged to have what the maid thought was throw up. No one in our party said that was then. She tried to make us pay $400 for three towels and a glass of Ginger ale. Btw, the hot tub is not one, but broken and used as a regular pool. She extorted us to not file a complaint.

Clean house for most part BUT…

Hot tub did not work. We didn’t find that out until we received code for entry. No face towels were available. Television in kids room did not work. Clothes dryer blew cold air. Pool lights did not work around the pool. (Except for one by the cement statue) Communicated some issues but no resolution was provided. I prefer things communicated or advertised in description prior to me paying money vs me finding out after the fact. I feel I was blindsided to a certain degree. House was clean to say the most.

Our little get away ♥️

We knew we needed a vacation but it’s really hard with our circumstances. Our big family is headed to Florida but we decided not to go. We don’t live far from Rockwall maybe 2 1/2 hours but we decided this maybe a good escape and not to far from Dallas area to visit as well. We also knew the traffic wouldn’t be bad too in Rockwall vrs surrounding areas. We have 3 girls 11, 8, and 3. Our baby girl has autism level 3 and is nonverbal. She has many sensory issues. But our seeet girl is a water baby for sure. She loves the water. We wanted her to have her own little oasis. We LOVED every minute we spent here. Our big girls called it the mansion which it really is a huge house compared to ours. We swam every day and just had our family time. We took one day and went into Dallas to visit the areas there and came back. We grilled one night and just swam. The hosts were amazing and attentive to anything we needed or questions we asked. And towels.. so many towels! Each room had 4 ♥️ AND THE SHOWER the water pressure is amazing it should have a review itself! We even researched the shower head to buy for our home! LOL! Thankyou for letting us stay in your amazing home! Also if you stay here go to Casa Mamas!! Hands down the best Mexican food we have ever had!! We went TWICE!! We enjoyed every minute and hated to pack and leave!

Beautiful home and neighborhood

The only thing that could be improved is the kitchen could be more equipped with things. Coffee mugs, utensils for cooking and for using the grill. Other than that our stay was awesome! We made things work with what we had in the kitchen to use. It would be nice to have some way to cool down the pool because it’s to warm to enjoy in July for me anyway.

Things we wish we had known

I like to read reviews that give me more information. The beds were very high. We had to buy two stools. Three beds very comfortable. One very uncomfortable. In the kitchen, no can opener, no trash bags,and no laundry detergent. However our host ordered immediately and was delivered within an hour. For six people there were only three wash cloths. And only six towels for a four day stay. We informed the owner and the response was, they only provide basics. We bought some extra washcloths, and laundered the towels. We enjoyed the pool and the view of the pool from the outdoor patio. However flower gardens were overgrown and weedy. Having said all that, the home was very spacious, beautifully furnished, lovely safe neighborhood. Even with the above flaws would definitely rent again.
