the best possible location for the christmas markets and one of the nicest rooms weve ever had. make sure you book the corner suite with the dom view, you will not regret it

Hotel was perfect as it provided superb service and always very friendly. Our room overlooked one of the Christmas markets so all good for us. Breakfast was quality with loads of options and varieties. Situated within 15 mins from Lindt chocolate factory and close to the other Christmas markets. We could not have chosen anywhere better. Train station is a 8min walk and cathedral is just round the corner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thankyou to everyone who helped provide gluten free breakfast and plates and cutlery to cater for my food allergies.

Very smart location close to the train station and Cathedral. Multiple Christmas markets within a few blocks. Well maintained, very modern hotel. Clean throughout. Most of the staff were very friendly, helpful, and responsive. Our only problem was the heat in our room. Housekeeping kept opening the windows while it was quite cold outside. It took all night for the heating to warm the room. We froze two nights back to back, even after making the desk staff aware.

Loved the view of the Dom from our room, and the free waters in the mini fridge were a very welcome extra on a surprisingly mild November trip. All topped off with a great breakfast. Amazing location, right across from Cologne Cathedral, museum and main train station..Acess walkable to all key areas old town and Rhine. Room excellent bed comfy and shower great. My husband and I had booked an overnight stay at the City Class am Dom from October 13 to 14, 2025. When we arrived, we were told that the water might be turned off for about 30 minutes in the morning, but that it would probably not affect us. In the morning, however, there was no water at all—neither for showering nor for the toilet. We waited several hours for the water to be turned back on. We were told we could check out an hour later so that we could still take a shower. Around 11:40 a.m., the water finally came back, but it was brown and therefore unusable. We went to the reception and said that we had paid for the use of water but had not received any. We asked for at least a partial refund of our bill. We had paid €226.61. They apologized but told us they could not refund us anything.

The hotel is situated right behind the Cathedral and a short walk from the train station. Easy walking to the old town and area felt very safe. The room was comfortable, good shower, good bed and nice breakfast.
