Found this hotel to be in a fantastic location and reasonably priced. We found the wifi very good from the hotel room. Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was tasty - overall an enjoyable experience.
This is a great hotel in terms of location, price (Tripadvisor deal) and quality of the rooms. We had a basic package and were surprised by the standard of the room which was very spacious and well appointed. Even though we were facing the road the soundproofing meant that the room was very quiet. Lovely decor and great furnishings including the bed, which was very comfortable. I'm a light sleeper but had 3 deep sleeps during our stay here. The staff were also very helpful. The only slight downside about the hotel is the loud, flushing of adjoining rooms which appeared deafening in contrast to the silence of the room. I also feel that their parking charges are excessive but fortunately there is very cheap parking outside across the road. One final point: Because of poor weather we decided to eat in the restaurant on or 1st night. I have to say that this restaurant is very poor and incredibly expensive. The fusion of latino and asian cuisine simply does not work and given the fact that we were the only people in the restaurant that night, we are obviously not the only people who feel this way. In contrast, the breakfast is excellent and good value for money even though it wasn't part of our deal and we paid extra for it - great fuel for our hikes around Cologne and in the Siebengebirge during our stay.
Only spent a night here as we explored Cologne for the weekend, but really wish we could have stayed longer. The room, a double with a huge king sized bed was bright, clean and very comfortable. We had a superb night’s sleep, and I would go so far as to say it was the best night’s sleep we have ever had in a hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, with beautiful crisp linen. The room had no bath but it did have a very good shower. The wash basin was in the main bedroom, and this was neither an issue or a problem for my husband or myself. Our room faced the river. The main foyer and reception area was bright and modern. The hotel has underground parking and is in very easy reach of the old town where there are many beer houses and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend this hotel to use as a base whilst exploring Cologne
We was only here for a night but wish we could stay here longer. The room was spotless, very modern and overlooked the river. The bed was a queen bed and not two singles pushed together, the TV was brilliant giving an excellent range of English channels to choose from. The bathroom was spotless, the shower was the best I’ve ever seen, and the art and glass work was beautiful. We left our iPad by mistake and are now getting it back to us. Room service options were very expensive which put us off however. One of the best rooms we’ve ever stayed in. About a 20 min walk to the station and 10/12 walk to the old town.
Me and my partner stayed here for two nights in December for the christmas markets, got a good deal with lastminute .com. This hotel is really well located-, there was a market set up literally next door to the hotel,it's right by the Lindtt Museum for a rainy day, a 20 minute walk to the Cathedral with christmas markets dotted all along the way as well as ice skating, we didn't need to get a taxi once we walked literally everywhere! The staff were friendly and they had chocolate waffles every day in reception to grab for breakfast so this saved us a bit of money and they were so yummy! The beds were so comfortable and the stained glass shower wall was a great instagram background :) The onlyyyy fault I can say is the cleaning staff were maybe a bit too persistent and we had a couple of interruptions whilst trying to get ready in the morning by someone doing something with one of our ceiling panels- some kind of works being done but it didn't bother us too much. It would also be cool if the reception staff had leaflets or a guide out or could give some recommendations of things to do and see that are outside of the obvious as we did find our selves bored by our last day! Lovely hotel!
5 ladies stayed here for 2 nights for the christmas markets , excellent location directly opposite the chocolate museum lovely big rooms with excellent complimentary toiletries only had breakfast at the hotel but everything you cold need was available on the buffet
Hotel location was good but other experiences that I had was cause of dissatisfaction. Breakfast was on acceptable level. When I stayed in this hotel for two nights during my business trip, it was beginning of December and was snowing outside. I experienced in my first night that, there is no heating system in the rooms. Central heating system gets off around 8 PM and central A/C system totally gets off around 10 PM. That makes you freeze during your sleep. I claimed to reception and they gave me an electric heater (attached photo) which was really unsafe and so I also could not use it during sleep. Thus, I never ever will stay in that hotel.
Can see Rhein River here, also easy access to the exhibition, beside chocolate museum.. love it! Surrounding also nice, clean room, nice staff. Can take an afternoon walk near this area... Price if you book earlier cheaper
Very disappointing stay. Broken coffee machine, nasty deposits from milk and coffee in the machine, furniture worn down, toilet paper holder in bathroom broken, water stains on ceiling, breakfast Buffett very minimalist, staff not on top of cleaning tables in the restaurant, mini bar fridge nasty and an absolute no go. I would not stay here again as for me it is nothing but unsanitary. See pictures.
This hotel is bright, clean and welcoming. The rooms are modern and comfortable and have more than enough space. Finishing touches like a coffee machine, English tv channels, Elemis spa toiletries and a heated bathroom floor make it even more unique. Although it’s on the main road it’s quiet because of the heavy sound proof windows and doors. We loved staying here. The only issue we had was that even in the winter the room was very warm and stuffy, aircon was not very cooling and the windows obviously did not open very wide due to the height of the building. The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant, great wifi and is close to the main centre and bus stop. We would definitely stay here again.
