Hilton Cologne4.0 out of 5.0

We had booked a Junior suite and this was our fifth stay in Hilton in a month. Location of the hotel is excellent, unfortunately the room we got was having bad smell as someone has smoked or used sheesha in the room prior to our stay, We complained and after three calls and one hour wait our complaint was attended when I physically went down to meet the supervisor (Laura and by the way she was very helpful and friendly) They tried to clean and spray the room but it still had bad odour, they were unable to change the room even when I requested to give me a smaller room as I am allergic to smoke. I have never experienced any problem with any Hilton hotel before and unfortunately they were unable to do anything and we were utterly disappointed that even if they are full why can the room not be changed as we were leaving next day early morning to Hampton By Hilton Aachen which was almost half the price and far better in every respect than Hilton Cologne. (except Location). After staying in over 80 Hilton properties worldwide I will recommend Hampton properties as they are newer cheaper and better service.
Top - location behind dome was very central, also close to river rhine - parking below hotel very convenient and safe - service & personnel was very pleasant and helpful - room, especially top bed, and sight on dome. Slept very well, great experience - breakfast was plentiful and delicious, incl. takeaway for honors
The hotel was wonderful. It is located very centrally and we were able to walk everywhere. If you don't want to walk, the train station is very short distance from the hotel. The rooms were very nice, had a great airy feel and were decorated very nicely. The staff was excellent and had a great knowledge of Cologne and were able to make several recommendations for restaurants and things to see. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Cologne.
Stayed here for one night while travelling across Europe - would gladly have stayed longer! The hotel is very centrally located - a stone's throw from the cathedral and central station. It doesn't look much from the outside and the reception area is quite modest so first impressions are a little uncertain. Any doubt was cast aside by our room - spacious, clean and airy in tasteful, restful shades of beige and grey. The bathroom was stylish and functional with good water pressure. Bed was comfy. There are plenty of great eating and drinking opportunities in Cologne so we didn't bother with the hotel restaurant. Breakfast, however, was incredible. A fantastic array of beautifully presented options, all fresh, all great quality. If I had known breakfast was going to be this good, I would have got up an hour earlier just to enjoy as much as possible! No problems on check out or while checking in. Staff courteous and professional. Would certainly recommend.
The staff turns this Hilton into a memorable place: true customer dedication, excellent service coming from the heart of the employees. Wonderful. Trust Stefan's wine recommendation in the Konrad. Of course, the hard ware (rooms, food ...) are top level, too.
The hotel is located a few steps from the Central Train Station and the Cathedral. The staff is well trained and very professional. In particular the front desk staff and porter/greeter Mr. Benito (Ben) Zorrilla. He was attentive, interacted with myself and my friends with a personal touch, and was able to speak all the languages represented in my group: German, English and Spanish. He was very knowledgeable about the city and surrounding areas and offered tips about local amenities, restaurants and clubs. I highly recommend this hotel to those traveling to Cologne, Germany.
The Hilton Cologne is well located for all visitors. A two minute walk to the main train station and a very short walking distance to the DOM-Cathedral, shopping and sport arena. The hotel rooms are clean and good size.A disappointing factor, there is no free Wifi/Internet in the rooms unless you are willing to pay 24 euros a day. However there is free Wifi in the main lobby. Another factor during our stay was that the hotel restaurant was closed for lunch on the Sunday. We found the staff very friendly and spoke good English. For location a good place to stay.
Extremely well located, close to the main station and the old town, as well as proposing an underground parking, this hotel offers great and large rooms well furnished. Smiley reception. Great breakfast buffet.
The hotel is a short block from the Cathedral and the train station. The staff spoke multiple languages and were extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet included a full American breakfast AND a traditional German breakfast buffet - enough food to eat for the whole day. Rooms are clean, good sized and include outlets/USB ports.
Good aspect: spacious room, decent and polite receptionists, very good room service, close to the cathedral and train station Poor aspect: Internet connection, was disruptive for quite a long period although finally reconnected
