Bathroom toilet kept getting clogged, when I told front desk he had an attitude and told me to unclog it myself with a plunger. The lady at the front desk also said black people are messing up their hotel.
Clean basic motel. Minimal breakfast selection but good quality. Very satisfactory.
If you just want a place to lay your head, you may like this motel. I arrived to find that check-in was done through a glass partition which didn't give me a good sense of security. The clerk was not friendly nor responsive to questions. There were a couple of shady looking characters in the parking lot which really didn't inspire confidence in the location (was traveling alone). The room was old and worn. No hair dryer in room. Check out was the same. I had questions concerning my bill ( I only stayed one night although I had booked for two), but the clerk was not in his cubicle. He saw me and just yelled for me to put the key in the slot at the glass partition. Would not stay here again.
The other reviews for this hotel were accurate. Good location, but not clean. In order to take a shower, I had to put a towel in the bottom of the shower to stand on. Slept on top of the comforter.
I ordered a non-smoke room. It wasn't, and had two cigarette trays in the room, one of them with a three quarters smoked, old and nasty cigarette butt. I was recovering from bronchitis and strep, and the air/smell made me worse in the morning. It was late and I didn't have any energy so I crashed, so didn't go back up to the window to ask for a different room from the attendant, who was also not in a good mood when I arrived. The bed was uncomfortable, I slept horribly. The shower nozzle appears to be very old and has gunk crusted all over in it. When I turned it on, the water pressure was very intense- so intense that I could not shower with it because the spray was too concentrated (and not adjustable) and painful. I basically took a bath instead. When I checked out I told the attendant about the problem and he just proceeded to make excuses about the shower- he told me that I can't turn it on all the way. No kidding. He still had a bad attitude and never even said sorry. The hotel was horrible and I don't recommend it. They would rather have you not shower than pay $10 at wal mart for a new shower head. Poor business and I will not return.
We enjoyed our stay. If you just want a bed and a shower, this is the place to go. No frills...just the bare essentails. Make sure to bring your own hair dryer and iron if needed. The staff was nice. The rooms were clean. Only 2 complaints: 1. the sheets did not stay on the beds well, 2. the tub did not drain very well.
It was just fine for what we were using it for. We needed a place to sleep for a couple of nights while we visited Williamsburg and this hotel always works just fine for us. Clean, friendly and very affordable. What more do you need
