We have stayed here before a few years ago and came back just for an overnight stay. We had a King no smoking room and it was just fine. There was a microwave and small frig in the room and that was nice. We carry a lot of our own food when we travel. The bed was comfortable and the h/a worked just fine. It is not the most updated place but if you are looking an overnight or a short stay on a economic level this is the place to stay. It is very close to the Visitor Center. The breakfast is a little weak being cereal and toast with some store brand donuts and muffins. Juice and coffee is available. Still it is a nice place to stay on a budget. Didn't use the pool as it was out of season.
This Econo Lodge stay was better than I expected for a low to mid price range hotel. Room came with free wifi, fridge, and microwave. No freezer in fridge was a little disappointing but to keep our ice packs cold we just cranked the fridge to max cold. Beds were super comfy. Bathroom was small and as a larger person I felt very cramped. Sink had a large counter and was outside and separate from toilet/tub which was great for when 2 people are trying to get ready at the same time. Staff was very nice, did not partake in free Continental breakfast. Main office had heavy curry smell, but didn't go in the office except to check in/out. Great location for all the historical sites as the Colonial Parkway is literally 3 minutes away. Within 10 min drive of several restaurants and shopping centers as well. Good overall experience, would definitely recommend!
The bed was unbearable the first night and they let us switch rooms and the bed was a little better. For the price and because it was one of the few remaining hotels with smoke rooms we stayed. But the wfi wasn't strong enough and someone needs to clean the very small pool! weak continental breakfast of cereal and store donuts. Coffee was good and located close to everything.
This is a nice little hotel. It's our second stay there and the staff is always very friendly. We were also pleasantly surprised this time by the HD TV mounted on the wall instead of the "fat back" TV'S that are on most economy hotels. The room is clean, the a/c works great, the bed is comfy and the water pressure is good. They also give you plenty of towels so you don't have to keep asking for more. The wifi workwd great too. The only problem we had was very minor. The toilet paper holder came off the wall but they fixed it. I'm sure we will be back next year.
We spent 3 nights here. The family loved the pool. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very close to Colonial Williamsburg and an easy drive to other attractions. There are several family friendly restaurants just across the road and you can walk to DQ. Breakfast is adequate but heavy on carbs. The rooms are a little run down but we were happy to be there because the room held 6 people for a great price. They even gave us a free crib for the baby.
Convenient to historic Williamsburg, fomfortable, friendly, reasonable rate. This was a one-night stay on a long journey, so I only wanted a bed for the night. Not sure about pool or any other amenities.
Great place in williamsburg VA and staff is so friendly. Rooms are clean and breakfast was good too. Also pool nice and clean. And the best thing is that bush-garden and water country is 10 mins from this motel. And colonial williamsburg is walking distance. We like this place and we will come back again.
We spent a week at a timeshare in Williamsburg and wanted to stick around an extra day to do some shopping at the outlets. While shopping I booked this hotel for $80 figuring we would just sleep there one night and be on the road in the morning. When checking in before dinner I noticed a small bug on the writing pad so I pulled the mattresses back from the wall. There were multiple small white and black bugs in the seam of the mattress. I went back to the front desk and informed the nice lady about the situation and asked to see another room. I told her I would still stay if there weren't bugs in the second room but would need a refund if there were. I had to use my flashlight in the second room as the lights did not work. Although I did not see any bugs in the second room there were little black flecks in the mattress seam that would indicate their presence. I showed them to the lady and asked for a refund as I did not want to bring bedbugs or any other type of bugs back to my house. She agreed but when we got back to the office Kevin-the general manager was there. He rudely informed me that it was not possible for them to have bugs because they sprayed for them once a week and no one else had ever complained about bugs. He then told me he would not be refunding my money and if I wanted it back I would have to go through booking.com even though his property had just swiped my card. He was very rude but I had the feeling he was simply upset he was caught in a lie. I had to work with my bank to get my money back as he wanted me to pay for a room that I refused to sleep in. Booking.com also informed me that they at no point had my money and were unable to refund it. They have also unlisted this property after speaking with the manager. If you must stay here be sure to check the mattresses thoroughly before bringing in your luggage and do not pay with cash!!
This hotel was at least somewhat clean or at least the poor lighting led us to believe so. However, not much else good to say about this stay. The decor is very dated and all repairs to walls, ceilings, plumbing etc have done been so to function but there is no attempt in making it blend in or to match paint at all. Not sure why there were only small travel size pillows (3) on the king size bed in our room and in our friends room with whom we were traveling. This made for an awkward attempt at sleeping as the wife and I had to flip for it to see who got the second pillow (She won). In all fairness we did not asked the front desk for any additional pillows as we did not notice until we were about to turn in after midnight. The only soda machine we could find also did not work again this was not discovered until after we returned to the hotel later in the evening. In the morning we attempted to have some of the continental breakfast but the selection of rain bran, cornflakes, toast, or doughnuts did not appeal to anyone in our group. I realize this was a spur of the moment booking in the middle of tourist season but for the price of $96.00 I would have thought we would have gotten a bit more for our money.
Got this place for a good price thru my Choice Hotel account (advance purchase). It's in a quiet location, and good access to everything. WiFi worked well. Pool is small, with leaves and some debris in it, but it was okay. I've been in it the past 2 days, and we were the only ones there. Had only 1 lounge chair at the pool. Beds are a little firm, but I slept okay. Our room had a small microwave and fridge, with a large flat screen tv. Bathroom was clean and smelled fine. Continental breakfast wasn't much, but I guess you're getting what you paid for. Today it was corn flakes, raisin bran, little chocolate donuts, packaged muffin, loaf bread and packs of jelly, milk, orange juice and apple juice. For the price, I would stay here again.
