We enjoyed our stay over the Easter Weekend as it was situated in the heart of the city. Reasonably priced compared to other Hotels in vicinity. Close to many eating places and easy access to all the sights worth seeing. Walking distance to Te Papa and the Wharves. Unfortunately there is no AC in room. Could be a little noisey with windows open.
The main thing this hotel has going for it is location. It is in easy walking distance of just about everything in the main CBD and waterfront area. The Michael Fowler Centre is just across the road! The hotel itself is old and dated but adequate for a nights stay. There is no AC in the rooms, something we found difficult as it was very hot at night. Summertime must be almost unbearable! They have some parking available which was useful as we had a car with us. It costs $25/night and access is within the hotel on the first floor. Just be aware, it is very tricky getting into the parking area, particularly if you have a large car. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for two nights and found the room to be pleasant with reasonably modern fittings and furnishings. The location was great, close to attractions and a variety of eating places. Wi Fi and parking cost extra and the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning but provided us with a fan.
we stayed two night for a family trip to Wellington and we thought the staff were good, great location, but the room was a smaller then it looked in the photos and the single bed seemed like a child size bed and was a little small for an adult. but overall it was a good place to stay.
Superb stay again at this hotel... It is central to where I need to be for a function...great service...nothing was a bother.. I am already booked again to stay here next year when I attend the same function....
After a long day in the road, we where happy to find thw hotel. The staff was very friendly and nice durig the whole stay so nothing bad to say about them. When we came to our room on the fifth floor, we recognized a loud sound but didn't know what it was. We thought that it came from the construction area on the street. Not thinking a lot about it, we went down for some dinner, which by the way was good. When we came back to the room at 08:30pm, the sound was still on and REALLY loud. We tried to find out what it was bur couldn't find the answer. We than thought it could be the A/C on the roof. As rhe day was long and we had to get up early, we tried to sleep but without a chance. The noise was terrible. I went down to the reception, complaining about the room and the noise and to tell them that there was no way to sleep. The woman at the reception was nice and i knew it was not her fault. She immediatly told me, that the noise comes from the kitchen fan which shows, that the Hotel knows about that noise in the rooms. I told her, that we need to sleep as we hsve to get up early but a change to another room was not possible, instead i was told, that the kitchen stops working at 10pm and will than turn off the fan and the noise will stop. VERY UNHAPPY wirh that but without a choise we went back to the room, tried to fall asleep and waited...as the noise was still there at 10:30pm i again called the reception and complained about that....after the phone call, they obviosly turned the fan off as the noise found its end. BUT i woke up at 05:45am the next morning as the noise kicked off again.....time to prepare beakfast.... I have been traviling a lot but never expeienced something like that. The stay cost us a lot of money for some lousy hours of sleep nearby the kitchen fan although the Boisproblem seemed to be known by the hotel. The staff was nice, the food was good..the room....as mentiones above. NEVER AGAIN.
I really liked this place. Staff were very helpful and friendly, even at 11pm when I misplaced my access card. Nothing was an issue. Bar was pleasant and drinks were cheap. Location excellent being close to everything. Room comfortable with everything you need. I would stay here again.
Although the service was great the room was out dated and average. I stayed in a old and tired room with a very uncomfortable bed and even worse pillow. Also there is little to no car parking, I had to quickly illegally park to check in, then was talk to park in the 1st floor car park. Was told that the ramp was a tight turn. That was a understatement on tight , I’m glad my rental was small and they had carpet on the wall. Big Cars beware!! Have recommended my company not to put me here again
Super location near to Queens wharf you can walk on the flat , staff friendly, rooms need updating although clean and comfortable bed , wifi , good nice clean entrance , tri the restaurants down on the wharf , Deckside was good and there are some bars including a German bar next to the TSB arena
Booked in here as part of a tour. There is no air con, just a fan, and the bin collection or deliveries very early in the morning are excessively noisy. The limited free internet seemed to run out very quickly. However the location is excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful. If this is just a base while touring I would say it’s ok for the price
