This hotel is well located, easy to get to from train station and airport. There are eight rooms mostly on second floor and ours was the only one located on third floor. It was a bit small, especially the shower and the Internet service was spotty in our room. It was better on the second floor. My daughter's Apple computer and phone could not connect but my Android phone could. Recommend you book a second floor room. The third floor stairs are pretty steep for carrying luggage. The owner is very gracious and friendly.
Room was fantastic, staff very friendly. Wonderful building in a great location. We suggest you open the windows and listen to the gondolas making their way past the front door. Water taxi from the train station is how we arrived which was a great way to start our time in Venice.
Really nice hotel in the heart of Venice with easy walking to anywhere. Breakfast was simple and very organic. The beds were a bit firm but with only a two night stay, it was okay. Very nice and helpful staff.
Nice but small room, friendly staff, easy late night check-in around midnight, clean room, great location!! 5 min walk from San Marco square in quiet street. Drop off with water taxi is possible at the front door.
Laura was great, she took the time to tell us all about the city and good places to go. Very nice. She also remembered my birthday! On top of that, the hotel was fantastic. Beautiful rooms with traditional fabric cushioned walls - the room was saturated with a Venetian ambience. Lovely stay.
Nice hotel with good location. There are two rooms next to the breakfast room and in the morning is very noisy, that's why if you book a room there don't take this two.My room was too small and I don't like it.Breakfast was ok.You can feel the venician spirit if you looking for that.
Arrived late in Venice and took a private water taxi to the S. Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop and it was a short walk to the locanda. Since there is no night staff, we used the intercom to alert staff we had arrived and were buzzed in. Room was spacious and located just off the breakfast room (which was not a problem since I could send hubby out in the morning to get a cappuccino and small pastry for me while I got ready for the day). It was perfectly located on a small canal and all staff were helpful. The only drawback might be having to climb two flights of stairs with your luggage. We are in our sixties and managed just fine, of course we only had two carry-on sized suitcases. Would highly recommend.
We visited Venice on the 12/07-14/07. Locanda Barbarigo was situated down a quite dead end road which was a perfect location, there was a water bus within less than 5 minuet walk plus we was 10-15 minuets from ST. Marks square. Couldn't fault the staff at all everyone was extremely friendly and helpful right from the off. Free wifi was a nice touch. Our room was small, but as it was just a base for us that wasn't a problem. The view from our window was amazing we had a view the canal which was used frequently by the gondolas at night some of the gondolas would have people singing on them which was a good experience. For the money, location and staff I would highly recommend locanda Barbarigo.
Arrived in Venice Friday (15th) morning, the hotel was easy to find. Lovely lady at the reception desk checked us in, she always asked us how our holiday was going when we saw her during our stay. Room was a good size, with a tv,fridge, safe, wardrobe. Decorated in a Venetian theme.Bathroom was clean with a shower, towels and bedding changed each day. Breakfast was in a large room literally outside our door. Tea,coffee, juice available, with a selection of croissants, fruit, eggs, meat, cheese and biscuits. Staff were lovely and always greeted us. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from St Mark's Square, the Fenice Theatre,Hard Rock Cafe. Would definitely recommend this hotel to someone wanting a nice clean budget hotel on the doorstep of St Mark's. Already looking to go back and stay at this hotel again.
Although the location is great, and the view from our room over the canal was fabulous, the room was disappointing- there were only plastic cups in the room (next to the kettle too, which of course would melt the cup), which is absolutely below even 1 star standard, and at approx 200 euro per night, not satisfactory at all. Breakfast was pathetic, to put it mildly. They claim to have service like a hotel, but there is nobody at reception after 8pm- also hotels have water in rooms and little added extras, but there were none here. The batteries in the remote control in our room were dead. All of this would be OK if the room was a lot cheaper, but for that price, I expect a bit more
