One of the things that contributed to my delightful, although short, visit to Venice was my stay in this hotel. Before leaving for Italy, I spent a lot of time researching on possible accommodations in the cities I planned to visit including Venice. I actually made reservations (free cancellation) at three hotels in Venice but eventually chose to finally stay at Arcadia Hotel. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I made related to my Italian vacation. The hotel was everything I hoped it would be. It's located in the Cannaregio neighborhood which is bustling with life. It is surrounded by restaurants, shops and stores. It's just two minutes walk to the stop for the water bus that goes to the Marco Polo Airport. It's about ten minutes walk from the Santa Lucia train station, with one bridge (Guglie) to cross (don't worry it has a ramp, so not much of a problem if you have wheeled luggage). If you do not want to walk that far and cross the bridge with luggage, you can combine a short water bus ride and a short walk. I will not give a detailed description of my single room at the hotel. If you are interested to know how it looks like, just go to the hotel's website and look at the photos. This I can say --- the actual appearance of the room is exactly the same as what are shown in the photos. Although my room was single, it was actually bigger than most of the single rooms I've stayed at not only in Italy but in other countries as well. I also found the size of the bathroom to be adequate. And the sweet-scented Roberto Cavalli toiletries and lovely Murano basin deserve special mention. The complimentary buffet breakfast is set at a sophisticated dining area. The food were attractively presented. I wanted to take my time in eating, but I was always in a hurry to leave because I wanted to arrive at the attractions early -- when there is still less crowd. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. If they could start it earlier, say 7:00, it would be great for tourists. The owner and staff were exceptional. They were very professional, charming, helpful and spoke very good English. By their demeanor, you could see that they take such great pride in their hotel and quality of service. The hotel has no lift but you never have to worry about climbing the stairs with luggage because they automatically help you carry your luggage to your room even if you do not ask them to. When I go back to Venice, I intend to stay at this elegant hotel again.
Great boutique hotel close to everything in Venice. Really warm welcome by the staff, free breakfast, nice, clean rooms, with good shower and amenities, comfy bed, and black out blinds. The staff ensured we were well looked after and offered recommendations for lunch and how to navigate the waterways. I’d definitely recommend!
My husband and I had been to Venice twice before, but this time I was taking a group of 16 for a Food and Wine Tour of Italy. Looking for a small Boutique Hotel, close to a boat drop off from the airport, walking distance to the train station but upscale accommodations, breakfast included, and excellent service was not an easy task. After researching over 15 properties, I found Arcadia Boutique Hotel. From the first email requesting room availability until we checked out, I was truly amazed at what a gem I had found. Andrea, Nicola and Daniel as well as all the staff at this hotel were prompt in their replies, professional in their services, and more than helpful with recommendations. They arranged boat transfers from the airport, offered a glass of Prosecco our first night, and were all available, without our asking, to help with our luggage. The breakfast was much more than I expected, offering typical Italian items, but enough "American type breakfast items" that we truly had the best of both. The rooms were lovely, decorated in Venetian style that felt almost regal. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms, with the Murano glass sink, were perfect. I wanted to make sure my group, all but 2 having never been to Italy before, felt their first 2 nights were "over the top". When we left the hotel for the short walk to the train station, the comments were "how can it get any better than this?" As a tour guide, that it exactly what you want to hear. The hotel is not in the busy touristy area, but only a 20 minute walk away. It is in an area that many forget to venture into. The restaurants nearby and the small shops are the true Venice experience. I highly recommend exploring this lovely area of Venice. I look forward to visiting this hotel again in May with another group! I will post pictures soon.
This hotel was absolutely fabulous - it was clean, modern/recently updated, the a/c worked wonderfully, the windows opened for a nice breeze, the staff were so pleasant and helpful. I can seriously go on and on. The location was perfect for us - away from the major tourist spots, yet on a busy street with lots of food options nearby (although, don't eat right outside the hotel - tourist traps galore!). We got into some great restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, with great food and wine. I would absolutely stay here again.
The biënnale is a good reason for us to visit Venice. I do not remember anymore how many times we stayed in this hotel, but we still like it very much. Nice room, confortable bed and excellent breakfast ! It is a classfull hotel, the breakfast room is beautiful and Luigi, the owner keeps a discreet eye that everything is perfect. The more you visit Venice, the more you will like it ! Thanks again for the wonderfull stay ! !
We recently enjoyed a wonderful few days in the Arcadia Hotel. I particularly liked the fact that the hotel is more modern than many of the hotels in Venice yet charming and very elegant. Our room was very well appointed and had a beautiful ensuite with luxurious towels and bathing products. The breakfast was well presented and very enjoyable. I would certainly look forward to a return visit
Its walking about 10-12 minutes from the train station, about two bridges climb. If you have heavy luggages, better to hire a porter. They take 5 Euros per bag, maybe less if you bargain. The hotel itself has a very small signboard to spot but remember the numbers- 1333. The reception is on the first floor and the rooms start on the secon floor. Be ready to carry your luggages as there is no bell boy. Rather we had to wait at the reception for almost 15 minutes during the check in in the afternoon as the manager was upstairs managing the restaurant area. This hotel doesnot have a all day dining restaurant but a decent breakfast spread but limited items for vegans. The room itself had an old view but thats the case with most of the hotels in Venice. The toileteries were something you would look with pride. They were replenished daily. Also the bed was comfortable. No view from our room, but if you stay in Venice, you would want to stay out all day and all night too. Its a good thirty minute walk from the hotel to San Marco but worth it as there are plenty of shops around. Clothes, murano glass, restaurants etc. There is a COOP also nearby which sells water and other essentials for cheap.
I stayed for three nights as part of a family trip to Venice. It takes 10-15mins from piazza la Roma where the bus from the airport stops to walk to the hotel. It’s a lovely walk and starts to give you a glimpse of Venice. We stayed in room 50 which is on the first floor and at the front of the hotel overlooking walkway below. It was a spacious room, upmarket and had a small balcony. With the windows shut you can barely hear any noise from outside. The room had air conditioning and a mini-bar with a free safe in the wardrobe. Slippers and bathrobes were provided and there was a bottle of complementary wine. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. In the bathroom was roberto cavalli toiletries which were replenished daily. Despite us re-using towels fresh ones were left each day. The room was exceptionally clean. The hotel were aware I was coeliac and needed a gluten free diet before arriving so for breakfast they’d got some gluten free bread, biscuits and snacks in. On top of this coffees were made to order, you could have a glass of prosecco and there was a selection of fresh juices. There was a typical continental breakfast but to a nicer standard. Staff were attentive and friendly. The chandelier made of Milano glass is amazing next to the dining room. The staff on reception were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They have maps and are happy to point things out and you can also buy the water bus tickets from reception via credit card. They will also book restaurants for you. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is a 20-25min walk to St. Mark’s Square at a decent pace. There is a number of restaurants near the hotel and a water bus stop 2mins away. I would highly recommend this hotel, great location, beautiful room and fantastic staff, I would definitely return.
The Arcadia is a small boutique hotel. The second floor lounge/breakfast room/bar is a delightful room with a beautiful chandelier. The bedroom are small with very large comfortable beds but lack any drawer space and wardrobes. We stayed in room 55 which was a quiet room on the side. The shower room was tiny and a real squeeze. The hotel is made by the very friendly and efficient staff. They were very helpful before w arrived answering questions and booking restaurants. Overall good value for Venice in a good location.
This hotel was so elegant and beautiful, and the location was perfect for us. It is about 20 minutes to San Marco - filled with stores and restaurants but less congested. I gave it four instead of five because I felt the atmosphere was a bit officious - too formal for us. For example, despite the hotel app saying the (gorgeous) breakfast area was also a bar, they kind of chased me out of there when I wondered up. And, when we got to breakfast five minutes early, we were told to wait outside the area. But other than that weird vibe, no complaints - this is a lovely, immaculate, and elegant hotel.
