The LaGare is steps from a vaporetto stop on Murano, and is ~30 minutes from Venice. Murano is a quiet island most of the time, but you are close enough to get to Venice quickly and come back for some peace and quiet. I emailed the reception at La Gare about booking the water shuttle to collect us from the airport on arrival. They replied quickly and organized it. We had no trouble booking the water shuttle to the airport for our return flight. The hotel is nice, modern and very comfortable. Our room was clean, bathroom was well equipped and had a good shower and there was complimentary water on arrival. There was no kettle in the room to make one's own coffee but when we asked it was delivered. There is also a shuttle toVenice, but we bought 72 hours tickets for 40 euros, and that was a good idea, because we could change water trams like we wanted (one way ticket costs 7,50 euros) Breakfast was buffet style. Croissants and pastries, seasonal fruit, yoghurt, cheese and meat. There was also hot scrambled eggs, bacon and frittata. There is a supermarket nearby. We were lucky to have great weather, the crowds weren't huge and we didn't have to queue too long for anything. The whole stay went smoothly and we received the excellent service from all of the staff there. I hope we will be back there again.
We loved staying at LaGare, just steps from the Museo vaporetto stop on Murano. The breakfast buffet was top-notch, and our duplex room was a cool refuge from the summer heat. The Biennale art festival was great, but the high points of this trip were quiet walks around Murano at sunset.
Agree with the others that rated LaGare a 5-star. The rooms were modern with luxury amenities. The staff is well trained and customer service oriented. We enjoyed the lounge area by the bar (the bartender was top notch!). The quality of the food and drinks were exceptional (the breakfast was a delight). We really appreciated the free shuttle service to the airport via boat! The only area that needs attention is the smell of the cleaning products (toxic for chemically sensitive people). I would have expected this level of resort to have an ozonator and/or hypoallergenic accommodations. The only suggestion they offered was to open a window (that turns off the AC). Not the fault of the staff, but management definitely needs to address this issue.
Well appointed luxury hotel with a average price tag. Closer to the all amenities and the ACTV dock in front of the hotel. Convenient to carry all Luggage straight to the lobby. Friendly staff and the restaurants serve quality Food.
Parked the car at cheap parking close to the airport, hotels water-taxi picked us up within 15 min., transfer to/from Venice just as fast. Very quiet location - obviously at its Murano - nice rooms, all fine. Will come back.
Located in a quieter island, this hotel has a beautiful design, service oriented staff and grand rooms. The breakfast at the terrace everyday was a gem. Having a nearby super market where you mingle with the locals was awesome. The Vaporeto stop is a few steps away and to top things off they even have their own shuttle boat that you can use. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in a relaxing setting yet just a short boat ride away to the hectic action in Venice. Thank you to all the staff at the restaurant, bar and front desk who catered to all of our needs in personalized manner.
Enjoyed the lovely hotel as well as the wonderful breakfast in the morning. The Island of Murano was a welcoming change every evening after a full busy day sight seeing in Venice. We had several meals on Murano and enjoyed each and everyone. The vaporetto the hotel offered made our sightseeing days even more enjoyable. I will say that the cost of our room was on the high end. I enjoyed the hotel but will probably look for a slightly less costly place to stay when we return. If cost isn't an issue if would recommend La Gare.
We came here as part of a group for three nights. The hotel is right next to vaporetta stop and of exceptional quality. Our room had a wet room with double shower, which did indeed get very wet . Don't know why but didn't seem to drain. Hotel has beautiful Murano glass lighting and a good cafe with tables outside. We were travelling around the cities of Italy so had stayed at three hotels of similar quality before this hotel. Unfortunately, it was all spoilt with the breakfast. Firstly, on first mornings no we arriv d to check in for breakfast at a great looking outside/atrium area. We gave room number and were told to go back to lifts to a group room around back. It wasn't a good experience. No member of staff greeted us. Tables were mad up in bench system. On two days there wasn't room to sit without disturbing others to move out to let us in. We went to another table but were told abruptly we weren't allowed to sit there. There weren't enough bowls or plates available and the coffee was awful. Would not recommend. All other hotels had wonderful breakfast facilities for us with charming helpful staff. It felt that the reakfast room arrangement was for the ease and benefit of he staff not the guests.
We ordered pizza and ravioli. Very good quality, moderate price. The server was very friendly. Service was fast. Nicely decorated inside with a clean and modern look. Serving sizes are small (ravioli) compared to other places in the area, but delicious.
This hotel is a fantastic base for exploring Venice and it's many islands. Well situated steps from a ACTV stop and many great restaurants, shops and a grocery store. We would have stayed longer but it was booked full! The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Wifi was a little spotty but overall decent. We had a room on the main floor which I worried would be noisy but we had no problems sleeping! The breakfast buffet is lovely. Served outdoors in a covered area surrounded by lovely landscaping. Delicious croissants and pastries, seasonal fruit, yorgurt, cheese & meat. There was also hot scrambled eggs, bacon & frittata. A lovely start to the morning. We would definitely stay again. Side Note - the hotel does offer airport boat shuttle free of charge but this is subject to availability. Quick & lovely ride in on a comfy speedboat! Mathilde was very accommodating and helpful when I emailed to book and then had to rebook due to a missed flight! Thank-you again.
