This hotel is in a perfect location, right next to the Rialto Bridge, a 10 min walk from St Mark's Basillica. The hotel is 'Venetian' in style, which is charming, however, it could do with a good deep clean (bedroom and public areas). On the other hand, our bathroom was very clean and the shower was amazing! So powerful. The bed(s) was 2 single beds pushed together and wasn't very comfortable, the safe and air con didn't work (yes we stayed in October but it was still warm). We had the windows open as we were warm (and sleep with the windows open at home) but it was SO NOISY outside! Shouting, crashing and banging from the neighbouring restaurants. Breakfast was ok, it set you up for the day but was pretty uninspiring. If I were to return to Venice I would stay here again purely for the location and the shower!
Great location - right near the Rialto Bridge. Walking distance to all the action. Old and traditional - which also means no lift! If you are able bodied it is great. Room was a bit dated but that added to the experience and you shouldn’t expect anything else in Venice. Very clean - everything in working order. Breakfast included.
I can't imagine a more ideally located hotel than this one. You walk outside the front door and see the Rialto Bridge every morning! Our room was a good size and had a very nice soaker bathtub which I enjoyed. The bed wasn't the most comfortable - but it wasn't bad and I was so tired after exploring Venice during the day that I had no problems sleeping! The people at the front desk were always polite and helpful - especially on our last day when it rained and they gave us large umbrellas to use! Overall I would highly recommend this hotel if you're going to be in Venice for a short period of time. If you will be staying more than a few days I would try finding a place with more comfortable beds and on a somewhat quieter street.
Whilst it's difficult to get a car on the main part of Sirmione there is onsite parking but do check before booking. The hotel is about 50meters from the lake and with 200 meters of most of the main area. There is a ½ mile walk up to the Roman ruins which are quite exceptional. We got bored looking at restaurants all offering the same thing so ate in the Hotel which was very good and of comparable price to everywhere else. The rooms had a very good bed and bathroom and being sited in a courtyard was quiet. I would say this hotel offered good value and would go again.
The hotel marconi situated right on the grand canal and next to the Rialto bridge. Room was fine , old style Venetian I believe they call it, murano glass lights wooden shutters over the Windows. Bath and shower all fine clean and reliable. Breakfast had a good selection; hot and cold items along with coffee and a selection of teas. Location was awesome - walk out the front door right on the canal and rialto, water busses stop either opposite side or a short walk . All the main attraction are easily reached. St marks sq very easy even the railway station . Plenty of restaurant's on the doorstep or a short walk away. Staff on the desk very helpful when needed. Revommended
If you are looking for value for money and a great location in Venice you need look no further. In the context of the money we paid for this hotel - it was great value, good breakfast and location was great. If had issues with the key to the room and the air conditioning whilst we were there - it happens - but they attended to the matters quickly and efficiently. If I have to note a negative - and there is nothing they can do about this - it was the stairs in the hotel - they are a killer. There are no lifts - but probably all part of parcel of Venice. But Venice is magical and is a must to visit. Takes your breath away.
The hotel is next to the Rialto bridge which is an excellent location. Staff polite but not friendly and not always helpful. We arrived in heavy rain and were cold and wet, however it was not possible to get even a drink of coffee as 'breakfast had finished'. Due to the rain the outside temperature was cold but there was no room heating until October.I was not sure if the bedroom was decorated to look old or was just old. However the bathroom was modern and very clean. Breakfast was good. This hotel was not good value for money even considering Venice prices
We stayed one night at the hotel, the room was clean and a good size for Venice, the staff were good and the location is great for exploring Venice, the position is the best part of this three star hotel as you are right on the Rialto Bridge. There is no lift so request a lower room if the stairs are a problem. Good Italian breakfast.
This hotel was a bargain. It's location is fantastic. It is an idea base to explore this great city. The breakfast was very nice which set us up for the day. The rooms are quirky in typical Venetian style. I would very recommend this hotel.
The Staff was helpful but not friendly, we only stayed one night is close to everything easy access to the water buses. If you travel with family & a lot of luggage then it would be extremely difficult to carry luggage across all the stairs.
