We chose Hotel San Moise because it was so close to San Marcos Square in Venice. When we arrived by train, we took the water bus to San Marcos Square and then used Google Maps to find. Super easy, although there’s a dock right next to it if you want to take a more expensive water taxi. We were pleasantly surprised to find an adorable courtyard with tables for sitting. A family was sitting there relaxing when we arrived - looked very peaceful! The rooms are clean, but small (that’s normal for Venice!) Two twin beds that were set up as a double bed. The porter was happy to separate them for my mom and I. Some rooms had a canal view, but ours didn’t. Breakfast was good with lots of options, and the hotel felt secure. They hold onto your key, with 24 hour availability. (We came in at 1am after dinner went late and the desk was staffed.) Overall, highly recommended and I’d stay again. Clean, secure, free breakfast and good WiFi.... and SO close to all the tourist attractions while still being on a quiet street.
Stayed a day with my family in this hotel. Room 108 was clean & tidy with high cielling. Staff are friendly & very helpful. Great location just by the canal route, shops & Gondole pick/drop point and also about 5mins walk to the St Mark's Square. The building is quite traditional with interesting chandeliers. To get there, we bought the 1 day ticket(€20 pp) & took the Line 2 boat from S. Toma stop (just infront of the train station - direction to the grand canal) - to San Marco then walked 5 mins to the hotel with Google help😎 Other option is to get off at the Rialto stop & walk about 10mins.
We stood here with children in May. We liked it. Hotel is situated convenient and near to Marco Polo. Breakfast was tasty and cruissants were so yummy. Hotel has inside space for resting, but there were many smoking people. Only one minus it has. If your window looks to river it is noisy in the morning. Many boats are unloading and loading under the windows and we could not sleep. Otherwise I recommend this hotel for stay.
All I can say is if you are going to Venice upgrade to a larger room if you stay here. Our room was tiny. Our friends room was even smaller. Could hardly move in it and had to store our luggage above the wardrobe as there would not be any room to move. My feet almost touched the wardrobe at the bottom of the bed. The bed wasn't very wide either. The rooms are quite tired, drab and dated. The situation is good and is not far from St Marcs square. The bed linen and towels were very crisp and fresh. Bathroom was clean, but small. We were down a side road so was quiet. Fortunately the weather was good so didn't have to spend too much time in the room. Breakfast was lovely. There were quite a lot of people at breakfast but they did replenish everything. Very clean and friendly staff. There is a lovely courtyard for when the weather is good. If we ever go to Venice again we would push the boat out for a 4 star hotel. This hotel would be ideal for students.
Thank you for your kindness. The employees are very kind and helpful. I liked the breakfast with the canal view. The room was clean and big enough. The hotel is very near Place San Marco, 2min by walk and the theater La Fenice. We really enjoy our stay.
Hotel looks nice great location, unfortunately our room was so small, less than 12 square meters! View of a narrow street. Bathroom also cramped ! Staff helpful when asked questions, hotel is clean. Breakfast is normal for 3star Europe, apart from the weirdness of leaving hotel to walk around corner through garden square to reach dining room. Garden square I’m sure would be a great place to sit if weather permitting. If we were to stay again I would want a much larger room!
We loved everything about this place! The location was fantastic. Next door to shops such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel etc. Next door to St Mark's Square and balcony overlooking a canal which regularly had gondolas going past with men singing. The whole experience was amazing. The room was massive (triple room), beds were large and comfy. We only stayed 2 nights but the rooms were cleaned during our stay. Breakfast was basic but all that was required before setting out for the day. Cereals, breads, some cooked food, teas, coffees, fruit juices. Great value for money. Would definitely be staying here again if I return to Venice (which I hope some day I do).
We stayed in the hotel for two nights in mid February I arrived half an hour after midnight and the reception man kept in contact by phone giving directions which I really appreciate Check in was very smooth less than 5 minutes Our room was the last in the attic, no elevator:) but we were given help with luggage Room relatively good with bathroom in a different level with stairs but clean Breakfast not very diverse but was well served, feel free to ask the lady for cuppuccino :) Hotel location convenient and v.close to San Marco We enjoyed our short stay and will come back soon
We arrived at Venice train station at 7pm. Took us one hour to get to San Marco, then another hour to find the hotel (which is hard to find). the Hotel is ideally located only 5 min away from San Marco yet it is hard to find for people not familiar with Venice. If you arrive a night time, I recommend you print a google map and prepare your itinerary in advance to easily find the hotel. Otherwise hotel is clean, rooms are very small (walls are thin-we can hear neighbors). Breakfast is generally good.
Had a lovely 4 night stay in Hotel San Moise. San Marco. Venice. Breakfast in the courtyard accessed via coming out the Hotel and walking round the corner. Thankfulky it wasn't raining! Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Only gripe we weren't warned about mosquitoes and had opened windows during the day. Which resulted in a couple of bites each. This was January 2018. Hotel was nice lots of antique pieces of furniture in and around the rooms. In need of some decoration but seemed to be getting a bit of an overhaul when we were visiting. We were 5 mins from designer shops and Harry's Bar. San Marco was about 10 mins walk away. Same for water buses. Staff on reception were lovely. Older guy on the desk when we arrived didn't really speak or understand English very well🤔 No lift means you have to lug suitcases up the stairs yourself. I had read reviews about it being noisy. We found the only noises came from the lovely ringing of the bells from San Marco. Weather was ok. We got rained on for about an hour the 1st day, 2nd day there was a bit of fog. Warm enough to go without gloves and hats unless you were on a boat on the Grand Canal it was a bit cooler on the water. Will definitely revisit in January no massive cruise liners to spoil the views and tourist numbers meant the queues were at a mininum. FABULOUS! 🤣❤
