We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Aqua Palace Hotel. We arrived by private water taxi which was a magic way to be introduced to Venice. The hotel's location was excellent & the staff were friendly & helpful, so I'd highly recommend the Aqua Palace Hotel if you're planning to visit. Here's a photo of the view from my hotel bedroom (#204).
Arriving late into the night did not stop the staff making us very welcome and showing us to our room for a very comfortable sleep in an excellent bed with a lovely bathroom. A minor grip with our allocated room would be the lack of a window to see out of as it was high up on the wall but it did not really distract for the overall ambience. A lovely quiet lounge area with canal view right outside the room was a nice to have. Located well to explore San Marco and Venice more broadly the Aqua Palace is a very comfortable, well-appointed and accessible hotel in a good location for the many adjacent restaurants, shops, bars and tourist sites. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and a particular mention must be made Sylvia in the breakfast room who looked after us so well and with a tasty selection of food and made breakfast with her a must. The Airport/ Hotel / Airport transfer to and from the hotel “dock” arranged by the reception was faultless. The Aqua Palace is highly recommended.
We had a junior suite with a view over the canal. It was worth every Euro cent! The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated, the marble bathroom was huge and beautiful. Everything, including the soundproofing, worked perfectly! We also loved the breakfast. There were many choices, also for Americans. I rented a private transfer form the airport which is pretty expensive, but totally worth it! The speedboat picks you up at the airport, the transfer is quick (especially compared to the vaporetto - the water bus), you cruise the canals and disembark directly at the hotel's private dock. We loved it! Also, the hotel is 5 minutes walk from St. Mark's Square and other attractions. It's super close to everything and remote enough to be quiet and relaxing. I'm glad we stayed there. It was wonderful!
Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location Georgio looked a bit taken aback when 2 bedraggled travellers came through the water door when we arrived. The weather was terrible and we were sodden after our journey in from the airport. Wet, but also exhilarated at the trip. A water taxi is definitely the way to arrive, - and depart but more of that anon. Actually, this was one of the reasons we’d chosen the Aqua Palace, - the water door. Not all hotels are accessible by water taxi and the Aqua Palace is (for the most part). The other criteria was a view of a canal and as we’d booked a canal view junior suite that’s what we got. we also wanted somewhere in San Marco as we wanted to be somewhere central for the Opera in one direction and the Biennale in the other. The location is really very good, - it’s between Piazza San Marco and Rialto but not on the direct route so not quite as busy as it could be. We were checked in swiftly and shown to room 203, our home for the next 3 nights. Being wet through we dried off as best we could and headed out for something to eat. Georgio had recovered his aplomb by the time we got back to reception and recommended Al Sconte, - a nearby restaurant. Our room was reasonably proportioned and beautifully decorated. We found the bed a bit firm but slept pretty well. The bathroom was really lovely, all beautiful white marble and with big fluffy white towels. The shower was an overhead which I love. There was a safe but no iron or kettle. Breakfast is overseen by inimitable Silvia. We’d read about her on many other posts but I was not expecting someone quite so charming, young and stylish. She whips about delivering coffee and chatting with one and all in a multitude of languages. Breakfast was the normal fare you’d expect, compact and nicely laid out. We had a good breakfast every morning to set us up for our days walking all over Venice. One real treat is sitting on the water door dock in the evening. The reception readily organises a wee drink and there’s nothing quite as lovely sitting there watching the world go by. Arriving back one evening we were very disappointed to see that it was already occupied. We’d booked a water taxi to take us back to the airport but when the time came for our pickup apparently the water was too high and it couldn’t get to us. This was odd as we’d been sitting there watching other taxis passing by but it hardly matters I guess. We had a short walk to Rialto, which thankfully wasn’t overly busy and departed instead via the Grand Canal. We had a absolutely marvellous stay at the Aqua Palace, everyone was lovely and the location was really good. When we go back we’ll definitely stay here.
This was our first time at Aqua Palace, staying for two nights it was excellent. Our junior suite was very large with a high ceiling; the location of the hotel is great and the hotel had arranged a water taxi from the airport right to the hotel (140 euros) and on to the train station (70 euros); the staff was very helpful confirming our dinner reservation and arranging a walking tour, and Silvia at breakfast could not have been nicer.
We stayed 6 nights to celebrate both of our birthdays and the hotel delivered❗️We stayed in room 204 (which was the BEST room) it was a Junior Suite with rap around Canal View. JUST STUNNING ‼️The check in was easy and being delivered to your hotel foyer by private water taxi was brilliant. The staff were great (especially Silvia). This hotel has the WOW factor that you are looking for and the location can't be beaten. We would 100% recommend this hotel. Thanks Raymond
We stayed for 3 nights in October 2017. The location is down a quiet side street and far enough away from the crowds that it feels serene, but 50 metres down the wonderful side streets there are some of the main streets, great restaurants and good shopping. The Co-op is also nearby which is handy for provisions. The hotel itself is in a very old palazzo and feels like antique luxury. Even a basic room, such as the room that we stayed in, is spacious by Italian standards and the bathroom is clean and large. Breakfast has many options and is available until 10.30am, and the hotel catered very well for my wife who is a coeliac and requires gluten free food. The hotel organised a private water taxi to take us from Marco Polo airport for 140 Euros which was very convenient as it included a car taxi from the airport to the pier, and then the water taxi from the pier right to the door of the hotel. When you have several heavy bags, the last thing you feel like doing is lugging them up and down the stairs and narrow streets of Venice so this was convenient and better value than it may seem at first glance. The alternative taking the public shuttle bus, public ferry and public water taxis which are time consuming, crowded and still require you to walk a fair distance with luggage. I would stay here again next time we visit Venice.
We selected this hotel for its location. We also wanted something a little bit modern than some of the old worldly hotels that are in Venice and this was just perfect. The rooms were clean and beautifully designed.
The Aqua Palace was convenient to the Rialto Vaporetto stop and we were very lucky that one of the bellmen was outside around the corner and able to guide us to the hotel entrance. You can reach the hotel by walking or from the canal. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Our waitress at morning breakfast could not be more delightful and attentive. Our room was very elegant and included a couch and very ornate desk area. The bathroom was completely modern. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aqua Palace and would definitely go back!
Location was great, very central. Service was really good. Breakfast is not great as I like to have a fresh cooked breakfast and there is nothing cooked. Rooms were very nice and a good size. Comfortable bed. Bathrooms large. When we went to Venice, they had rain and around 20 degrees during the day so the smells were not there. But I know when it is hot there, they have smells rising up from the sewerage. Water taxi stops right outside the hotel which is on the river.
