We loved staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Burnaby B.C. The room was lovely - beautiful view, amenities were well thought through, lighting was excellent in the bathroom, comfortable bed, nice breakfast and we just loved the whole experience. Arrived late at night and the driveway in front of the entrance was blocked. I wanted to check in but there was nowhere to park. Drove for 5-10 min in a circle and had no choice but to park in front of the garage despite 10 signs threatening that my car will be ticketed and towed. When I walked towards the entrance to check in, I was greeted as if I was a burglar. The room was ok. Just like 95% of all Vancouver hotels, it's very old. The main problem was a foul smell in the bathroom. I think the stench was from the shower curtain because it's always sitting in a puddle of water and never dries. I was too tired to request another room so I just put up with the terrible smell. If you arrive in the afternoon and don't get a smelly bathroom, it should be OK.

This our favourite hotel for staycation! We are IHG member as well so we receive extra perks everytime! We will always be back. Breakfast is excellent as always. Beds and bedding comfortable. Bathroom amenities are all very good. Shower is nice with hot strong water. No clogging. Air condition is cold in a hot summer day. Just steps from metropolis mall, restaurants and skytrain and bus loop.,, but whatever noise are oitside, did not bother our sleep and rest. Most of all, the staff are amazing, helpful, friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to the front desk ladies who helped us and provided welcome snacks for us!
