There are actually a few different airports you can use to get to Valdosta. In case you are coming from far away, you will most likely fly into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which is also considered one of the busiest airports in the whole country. If you are planning on flying elsewhere after your trip, you may want to spend the night at one of its many nearby hotels since the airport is still a good 3-hour drive from Valdosta.
Another option is Tallahassee International Airport. Though it has fewer options than Hartsfield, it is only 90 minutes away and you can stay at one its nearby hotels over night. Your best option for getting into town, however, is Valdosta Regional Airport, which is a mere 10-minute drive away from downtown. There are only three arrivals and departures each weekday as well as only two on Saturdays, so you may want to plan accordingly.
