Apollo Hotel Utrecht City Centre

We arrived without a reservation and unfortunately the hotel was full. The two young ladies at the front desk went out of their way to help us find a place even though there were very few vacancies available in the city. If the service we received is any indication of the hotel itself it must be top rate!!

Good location in the center of this beautiful City, nice and friendly Staff. The Room shape was pretty good compared to the price and the fact that it accomodated 3 Persons, overall this Hotel was a very good option.

Stayed here 1 night and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly checkin, the price was average I guess for Utrecht. The location is really good, we walked from the train station in about 15 minutes and walked back to the train station early the next morning. Also, it was just down from a market that was interesting to see different things on sale. It was also an easy walk to different sites and along the canal which had a few really good picture shots. The room was really big for Europe, and was clean. Bed was comfy and we asked for a balcony and had one. Just overlooked the street but it was still nice to sit out there and watch everyone bike. On the 2nd floor is a coffee room, a good size room where you can go make a coffee or whatever. We looked in on it but didn't go as the room has a coffee maker with Nespresso cups. Would stay here again.

The Apollo Hotel Utrecht has an unbeatable central location. The rooms are comfortable and clean, though a refresh wouldn't be amiss considering the competition from newer hotels nearby. Reasonably priced for what it offers. Great views of some of the Utrecht skyline and the Domtoren if you get a room facing the back. Friendly and helpful staff.

I really like the Apollo for cost, location and pleasant rooms and staff. The 28 bus service is very desirable as as=re the many nice restaurants near the hotel. Also, many tourist attractions are nearby, althought hte tourist bureau needs to improve the attractions; please tell them that closing the dom for meetings on the two different occasions (2015 and 2017) was discouraging. I am likely to return when the Westerdijk Institute (CBS) has another symposium.

I stayed here for 3 nights, booking in the full knowledge that it was probably of average standard. It seemed quite pricey but I guess Utrecht is generally. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was a bit concerned to get a room on the ground floor with French doors to a pavement but actually it was completely quiet. There were a few plus points: firstly the hotel is about 6 mins from the station and it's very easy to walk to the main area. I liked the extra touches like a kettle and different teas/coffee and fresh facecloths every day. Finally the staff was super friendly, especially the blond-haired man on night shift. Nothing was too much trouble and he smiled constantly. We didn't have breakfast as 20 euros seemed a bit ridiculous. We went to Starbucks across the road or there are many cute cafes in the central area that are open fairly early.

We had a nice stay, very good location but the television didn't work properly, noisy outside and inside (you could hear the neighbour sneeze his nose) beds were a bit hard, breakfast not replanished in time, but I would certainly come back again!

A 3.5 rating and a little bit too many negative reviews made search for another hotel at first. But because of the very good location and the very reasonable price we decided to book Apollo anyway : for only one night we chose the convenience of location. Glad I booked Apollo : our stay was a LOT better than expected. Check-in was professional, swift, without the slightest problem. Got 2 rooms right across from each other. Rooms were spacious, clean. Tv screen bigger than you might get at other hotels. TV has youtube and digital channels. Wifi is adequate - no hassle. Both rooms were quiet. An unexpected very nice bonus is the lounge with free tea, cacao, hot and cold water, EXCELLENT coffee (professional espresso - capuccino - coffee machine) Guests can come sit and drink here all day - even if you don't have breakfast at the hotel you can come drink coffee in the morning for free. Location is absolutely perfect. A few remarks 1. there is only 1 lift which is extremely small. 3 people in the lift is claustrophobic. I feared that on rush hours this would be a major problem, but during our 2 day- 1 night stay we never had to wait for the lift. 2. no air-con. Could be a problem on hot days, but wasn't a problem during our stay 3. Light sleepers can hear the bells of the Dom at night at regular intervals : but really depends how light or easy you sleep. Not very loud, but enough to hear. This might be a problem for hotels closer to the Dom. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends, and I would definitely book this hotel again - without a doubt !

Perfect location and treatment. We will repeat in this one. The hotel is 5 minutes walking the center, shops, cafe etc so that`s perfect for travelers. Small city where you can go by walking everywhere.

The room we were given was smelly and dirty so we asked to move. The only other available room was right by the inner workings of the lift so it was really noisy. The room was slightly better because it had two windows rather than one but the drains stunk. The bath was dirty and the netting on the window had holes in and marks all over. Their slogan is "you'll be back" I definitely won't. Although the free tea and coffee was nice, I have to admit.
