Unlike its business like appearance, this hotel has real value.Staying its room is good, particularly water and bath facilities. Staff’s reception is very good. Food in the breakfast is enough and fine.
Just two blocks from the train station, one block from the busiest touristy canal, half a block from the daily market, this is a great spot from which to walk to the rest of Utrecht. The staff is great, very helpful, cheerful. The breakfast was fine. There are 90 rooms in the hotel, but it's a bit oddly constructed--seems to be two hotels joined at the hip, and a bit awkward to get from one section to the other. There is no air-conditioning (at least in my class of room), and no toiletries. But if you can get a good price, this is certainly an okay place to stay if you are spending most of your time out in the city. My room was clean and I got a good night's sleep.
Good location by the. Enter of Utrecht. Should accept other form of payment (not only credit card in advance). Acceptable breakfast. Rooms could be kept cleaner. An issue with the sink was rapidly solved. Most attendants were kind and helpful.
The location of this hotel is really good and the staff at reception were lovely. The rooms themselves are good. Our room had 3 beds, and a balcony and was very spacious. There is no air con but adjusting the thermostat in the room got it to a comfortable temperature. The problems? NOISE! We could hear everything that everyone in the rooms around us were doing. 1am bathroom trips, running the tap, boiling a kettle, tvs, conversations, some random banging that started first thing in the morning etc etc If you're a heavy sleeper though, you'll love it!
We stayed for two nights. The weather was very warm, 28C daytime. Positive points: * very central location, near to train station, Dom, canal, shops. * reasonable price for this location. * continous free coffee service * comprehensive buffet breakfast ( this can be included, or not, depending on your booking) * friendly reception * good wifi reception Negative points: * we were not happy with our room (#502) - extremely warm, no aircon, portable fan provided. Window can be opened, but it faces very busy traffic intersection. During our stay, we became aware that airconned rooms are in fact available - they are on the 3rd & 4th floors, apparently - but, checking, we could find no reference to this on the hotel's booking site. If you're staying in high summer, best be aware of this. - no bedside lamps, ceiling lights only, not switchable from bed. In examining the hotel's website room descriptions/photos, it became clear that our room was in fact an 'eenpersonkamer' (single room) which had had a double bed installed. This explained why the room's switches were not in the correct position in relation to the bed. Hmm...squeezing two people into a single room? Tut, tut. - no plug in bathroom handbasin. This was not because the plug was missing, but because the basin is not designed to have a plug. So, whilst using the basin, you have to leave the taps running (and, yes, reception verified that); a first, worldwide, for us. * very comprehensive tv service, but it's internet-based and occasionally freezes - for, say, up to half a minute. In summary, the location was great, but we were not happy being assigned, as a couple, an (ex-)single room. The hotel's booking site should be clearer in respect of options available (including airconditioning).
The hotel was ideally located for my conference needs, as well as being close to major old city attractions and the train station. Faultless staff and excellent view. Even air conditioning. Other than a few housekeeping issues, and no ice machine, this hotel would be hard to beat.
location is great, near to everything. the rooms are old. the staff is nice and helpful. bathroom is old, and tooo small and just a hair and body shampoo amntenies. no slippers. the twin room is big enough for 2 persons. breakfast could be better . wifi works very good.:)))))
Apollo is in the center of Utrecht. It is easily reachable. It's very close to public transport and central train station. It's also very close to the places of nightlife and shopping malls. Staff is very kind and friendly.
Walking distance to the city center makes the hotel attractive for tourists. I have been in Utrecht only for two days on a business trip but the staff I have met at the hotel was very friendly. I highly recommend!
Kind and friendly staff. I hope to stay again.
