First off this is a Days Inn converted to an Americas Best. The guy that brought it is really trying to make it work. The room is as good as a Motel 6 but on the interstate. I have stayed here 4 separate times and I will continue to. The rooms are clean and the property is well maintained. It's a clean room and a nice bed and a nice guy running it. Oh, and its on the interstate. Make sure you negotiate a good deal.
I have stayed at this hotel about 7 months ago in the front. The front room was good. This time I stayed in the back and it was horrible! The shower curtain had mold on it. The curtain rod had been pulled out and replaced wrong. The tub was dirty along with the walls. They only gave a double room two towels 1 wash cloth, and two hand towels. We are a family of 3. For $79. I expect a clean and fresh room and some coffee in the morning, that is all. The front room was a little noisy, but otherwise clean.
Stayed here instead of Holiday Inn across the freeway. Very warm reception and nice long for continental breakfast. Had all accommodations that we needed. No hot tub. Great location for walking to restaurants for meals.
We had planned to tent camp but after seeing the conditions of the area we were at we opted for a room. It was clean as was the bedding and towels... The toilet ran nonstop and water seeped from somewhere around the toilet filling the grout lines of the flooring. Had to keep the floor towel rug down as it got slippery with barefeet only. Had very little toilet paper - didn't last until bedtime that night. Thankfully we had our own figuring we were camping.
The only thing I can complain about is the road noise. I would suggest the back side of the hotel. It was good clean and a great price. We were gone first thing in the morning but it was a pleasant stay for the night.
I had to get a hotel close to where I had a flat tire near Winona, TX. After pulling my car into the Valero across the interstate, my two daughters and I got a ride to America's Best Value Inn. Mr. Patel was the hotel manager and he was very helpful. We got a clean room, and it was very quiet. With the free wifi, the girls were able to play their internet games on their phones, while I watched some basketball on TV. The next morning, Mr. Patel drove me to a used tire shop, where I got one for $32. Then, he went over to the Valero with me and helped me get the tire on the car. Note: he did charge me $25 for going to the tire place and helping me put on the tire, but that was perfectly fine by me. Downside- the room was a little old and worn, and the "morning continental breakfast" composed of honey buns, muffins, and coffee. However, that was okay. Upside- Mr. Patel goes out of his way as a hotel manager to make the experience a very good one. It's like what TXAgitator said, “It Served Its Purpose But The Owner Is Very Helpful!”
This is buy far the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed at! The office people are rude. We were trying to get out of the truck and the guy was standing by it, just watching us then was asking so many questions. I've never had that happen before, why watch our every move? They shouldn't even charge for pets with how nasty the rooms are. The rooms are nasty, the towels are dirty, the walls have nasty stuff on it. The beds are rough and noncomfortable on top of that the sheets and pillows were gross looking yellow wise! It even had bugs in the room. The ac doesn't even work we was sweating all night. I woke up feeling sick. Not a place to stay if you have kids. I'm so glad my daughter didn't stay there, its to filthy!
My Freightliner truck had to be towed in to the truck dealer next door and my co-driver and I needed a room for the night. This was the only lodging available for several miles in any direction so we stayed here for the night. The location of this hotel was also out of the coverage area for any places that deliver food- BUT the motel owner was nice enough to go get our pizza that we ordered for the $5 cost of gas. The rooms were ok but will need to be updated before long. They are showing a bit of wear but the beds were comfortable and our stay was very quiet- far enough away from the road noise. This is NOT a 5-star hotel by any means but if sleep and a shower is what you need, this place will do. The motel owner also gave us and our luggage a ride back to the Freightliner dealer after we checked out. The owner of this motel was very helpful and it's obvious he is trying to do right in order to earn business. ***Heads Up*** The truck parking area tends to become muddy when it rains and a loaded truck and/or trailer is very likely to get stuck while turning around in there. If your truck is loaded, there's a paved road between the motel and the adult book store that the motel owner pointed out to me.
I am moving with my family and two dogs so I made a reservation here because we were tired. We should have known when it took multiple times to get a key to work. Filthy and falling apart. See photos. Hair in the tub, dirt piles in the corner battling the spider webs for domination, rips in the bed cover, broken /missing drawers. The sheets were clean and we didn't get bedbugs.
It is obvious that the owners do not read the reviews because there are bad reviews all the way back to 2006 on Travelocity. Made the mistake of booking this hotel without reading the reviews but it was just for one night. First impression, lobby dirty (not a good sign). Room numbers painted on door, it looked like a child's work. Turned on air conditioner to get some air and moldy, smelly air came out, there was no way to run the air. Had to leave the door open to get cooled down. Fortunately that night was cool but would be miserable if it had been a hot night. Television cable kept going out, finally turned it off and watch TV on my note pad. I've stayed in other America's Best hotels before and found them to be okay, but this one is not. Keep driving and pay a few more dollars to get a decent room.
