Orchid Guest House

Wonderful Base of Operations

My daughters and I stayed for a week and loved the proximity to The Strand, Flinders and at home feel of Orchid Guest House. Fran helped us make the most of our once in a lifetime trip and helped us book our fabulous activities: Billabong Wildlife Sanctuary, Adrenaline Dive visit to Lodestone Reef, Magnetic Island. She went above and beyond! Woolworth is a quick easy walk so meals were affordable with our kitchen.

Mercure Townsville

Townsville doesnt equal luxuruy

There is no real luxury hotel in Townsville. The Mecure is ideal if you have a car as it is away from the inner city noise. Without a car it is well way out of way. The rooms are relatively small but the setting on man made lakes is fairly relaxing. Nice pool, cold spa, average beds, new but tiny bathrooms. Breakfast buffet was fairly good and the restaurant overlooks the pool area. In the absence of any 5 star hotel in the area I would be happy again at the Mecure, even though it has its limitations

Rydges Southbank Townsville

Rydges Townsville

Althought the hotel could use some updating (furniture mostly) the rooms were very clean and the bed quite comfy. The location was very good. Lots of restaurants, etc.
