It's not terribly well sign posted, so you just need to keep an eye out for the construction area to see where you're going. There's no on site parking, but you can pay $15 to have a car park allocated off site, a few minutes walk away, in an open air lot. The hotel itself is very basic and part way through a renovation. The rooms are pretty small but enough for a solo traveller. They're clean, which is great, but the beds are hard!! The carpet in my room was threadbare in places but I'm sure that would get replaced in the renos. Location wise, it's in a pretty good spot. Right near the city arcade and shops and only a few minutes walk across the river from the bigger hotels and the accompanying restaurants. The breakfast voucher they give you is for the exorbitantly priced cafe next door and to the value of $15, so big breakfasts aren't an option. It does cover a basic breakfast of toast and coffee, though. The staff were nice, helpful and friendly. As a budget hotel this place isn't too bad but I think it'll need to wait until the refurbishment is done before they try to be anything other than a basic, budget place.

Clean room & great for price - we paid $89 for one night. Great hotel for short visits or business trips. Our room had three stairs up to where the bed was so it wouldn't be any good for very small children. Probably not where I would choose to stay for a holiday or with children.

Room was comfortable, perfectly located, staff were friendly and helpful. One of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in for travel. Cafe at the base made the morning easier to face. Affordable for solo travelers looking for a bit more luxury accommodation.

Fantastic location, a bit confusing with the hotel name change as all the signs on the building say something other than Madison, the staff are lovely and very accomodating, the room is very clean. The only negative is that I can hear absolutely EVERYTHING that happens in the bathroom next door. That really brings down the rating for me.

Honestly, the best hotel I've stayed at. So accomodating! Every staff was amazing. My partner had an accident and they changed our room before he was even back there. Just so he didn't have to jump over a big bath. Can't wait to come back, definitely would stay here! Close to everything also!

Thank you for having us. The room was lovely and clean. Well priced and the perfect location for where we needed to be. The secure car park was an added bonus. Can not say enough about the wonderful, friendly and helpful staff on all shifts. Great customer service which seemed to be echoed throughout the town of Townsville. The only drawback which was of no fault of Madison Plaza was the road/footpath works that was hindering access. Totally out of the Madison Plaza' control.

Needing accommodation on the night of the Cowboys Bronco game for a week for work. Disappointed with the price for the Thursday night (Game night)- normally $94 Thursday night price was $217. Other than the price hike, the staff are amazing, rooms are clean, the bed and pillows are good.

3 ladies travelling and they gave us 2 rooms which was ideal. Only cost $128 and was beautiful. Close to CBD and easy walk over to Palmer street and the dining precinct. Staff were great and friendly. Parking is across the road beside police station. Rooms were clean, spacious and really nice. This will be my choice when next I visit Townsville. Just wish the stay was longer so we could have tried the restaurant on site.

Situated right next to a Woolworths and right in the CBD. Excellently priced room - much cheaper than competitors for the same type of room (tho slightly smaller than most). Clean well maintained room. Excellent shower pressure. Only downfall was the noise from the plumbing in an adjoining room.

Ideally located in the Townsville CBD. The hotel is a short walk to restaurants or Palmer Street restaurant precinct and coffee shops. The shower has good water pressure and sufficient space. I find the hotel has comfortable beds and fluffy towels.
