This hotel is atrocious and in no way would I recommend it. The rooms are old, musty and unpleasant, the beds are horrible and lumpy and the staff are the most disorganised I've seen. Luggage left in a room with no safety or security, dank and dark hallways and filthy carpet. It's in no way a hotel I would ever stay in again and would recommend you book elsewhere.
The rooms are a bit small, even for Japan, but everything is extremely clean and functional. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was very good. The location is really close to the JR station which makes it easy to get to from the airport and around the city. The area was a great home base for us to get to all the tourist locations in Tokyo.
It's a short walk to the train station, but not that interesting an area at night. The breakfast had a lot of options, and the wifi was decent. The rooms were not that big, but I didn't expect it to be in Tokyo. We had a room that was a "smoking room", but they had done a decent job of sanitizing, so I didn't notice any lingering smoke smell. There are also coin washer/dryers, so you can get some laundry done.
I can't understand why people would give this place a negative review. It's clean, it's cozy (the rooms are small but not unreasonable), it's quiet. We are on the 12th floor. We don't hear any noise at all. The wifi is great, we get strong signal. It's very close to uguisudani station on the yamanote line. The queen size bed in our room is very comfortable. The staff is very polite and helpful. I seen some people complaining about the area (love hotels), but it's a lot better then some of the seedy areas in Canada (where I'm from) lol. This a great home base for a Tokyo vacation. I would recommend it.
This is my first hotel in Japan and after getting over the culture shock I think I realised how lucky I got hotel room wise. The it's small but well designed, which seems to be the standard in japan x clean and has everything you could need, in a fairly decent location for ueno and the subway x
This hotel is near the JR Uguisudani station of YAMANOTE line (山手線鶯谷駅), if you do want to spend too much time to think the route in Tokyo, YAMANOTE line is good for you, even the train will stop every station, but it will stop at almost the most popular station in Tokyo. Otherwise, this hotel is located in a "Love Hotel" area, so many love hotels just behind this hotel, and you can see many many couples just in and out of those love hotels..... For a single traveler or backpacker, this hotel should be OK, but for family and/or couple, I do not think this hotel is a good choice..... The room is not big....for single bed room is large enough, but when you reserved a double bed for two person, the room is too small....as regards the bathroom, I just can say, it is just as the normal hotel in Japan....small.
It was an average Japanese sized room and breakfast was OK for Westerners too. it has restaurants nearby and nothing missing in the area around. A seven eleven is three blocks away. it was all OK. Reception is on Level Two.
The hotel is in a rundown looking area, sort of a red light zone. However, it is quite well placed with the station located directly behind it with access to the yamanote line. Ueno park is walking distance. The room was basic but fine. The bathroom smelled pretty fusty though. The breakfast was good and was worth it. However, I lost my room key and as I checked out they demanded 10,000 yen for a replacement ! Where did they pull that figure from, absolute crooks. I told them repeatedly I did not have that money and eventually haggled with them down to the 3000 yen that was left in my pockets. Shocking, crook behaviour. The level of English at the counter also made communicating very difficult and should be improved.
The hotel is very accessible to train station, restaurants, groceries, and other shops. I love that the rooms are a little bit on the small size but everything you need has properly provided. Breakfast is awesome!
Modern hotel in a rather non-descript area. Very close to J-train bringing you to all main Tokyo attractions on the one circular line. Room, a twin, was OK size..a desk and two chairs and two small double beds( most doubles small in Japan and a double room smaller than twin so would recommend twin in the more budget and tourist hotels) Bizarre step into bathroom ....not good if you were drunk!. Staff friendly and supermarket beside entrance.
