A misunderstandig on caused us to book a 2 person’s room for a family of four. We took for granted there would be cots or mobile beds for the kids, but all we got was a tiny closet-sized room with two beds for share. Didn’t think it was possible to book a room like this for a family through hotels.com. All they could offer was a room with two slightly bigger beds for a horrible prize. We tried to be cooperative and asked for more linen, but no. Beds for two, linen for two. We were jetlagged and had the worst nights ever in this hotel. Breakfast also turned out to be not included and had an unreasonable prize. My recommendation is stay away.
This is the first time I stay in this hotel, as X'mas season, I can't book my preference hotel, so just would like to book a hotel close to Ueno Station before I depart to airport on tomorrow. You can easy to see the hotel signage after take off the JR Uguisudani Stationer, the escalator facilities in this station convenience for the traveller, a walking distance to Ueno Station around 20mins. 3 of us stay in the room feel very small, is hard to open the luggage in room, but clean and new is my prior.
We stayed here 3 nights with our tour group. Our room is extremely compact. One pillow and one small towel per person. Wouldn’t of been my choice. We have nowhere to put our luggage so it’s an extremely tight squeeze. That said, it’s clean and the staff is nice. Wi-Fi is pretty solid. Location is close to metro. Only pain point is when I asked the staff to help me make a reservation at a restaurant, they wanted 100 Yen for every 3 minutes (to make a phone call)? That was in poor taste.
This modern no fuss hotel is very conveniently located just a three minute walk from Uguisudani subway station. There is about 20-25 stairs to carry your luggage down en route, but otherwise it is easy for luggage on wheels and can be seen from the station platform (less need to ask strangers for directions). The rooms themselves are neat and modern, but not overly spacious. There is TV but no English language channels. There is a small fridge to cool your drinks and the bathroom is well appointed for a small space. It has a typically Japanese toilet with all sorts of added functions.... And a lovely shower. We had the included breakfast which has a very wide variety to cater for the multiple tastes of all it's travellers. Overall I was very pleased.
One train stop from Ueno Station. Restaurants within short walk. Good breakfast variety available as room add-on. Laundry service or self serve laundry mat. Polite courteous staff - TV with add on costs. Clean and safe.
This hotel is atrocious and in no way would I recommend it. The rooms are old, musty and unpleasant, the beds are horrible and lumpy and the staff are the most disorganised I've seen. Luggage left in a room with no safety or security, dank and dark hallways and filthy carpet. It's in no way a hotel I would ever stay in again and would recommend you book elsewhere.
The rooms are a bit small, even for Japan, but everything is extremely clean and functional. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was very good. The location is really close to the JR station which makes it easy to get to from the airport and around the city. The area was a great home base for us to get to all the tourist locations in Tokyo.
It's a short walk to the train station, but not that interesting an area at night. The breakfast had a lot of options, and the wifi was decent. The rooms were not that big, but I didn't expect it to be in Tokyo. We had a room that was a "smoking room", but they had done a decent job of sanitizing, so I didn't notice any lingering smoke smell. There are also coin washer/dryers, so you can get some laundry done.
I can't understand why people would give this place a negative review. It's clean, it's cozy (the rooms are small but not unreasonable), it's quiet. We are on the 12th floor. We don't hear any noise at all. The wifi is great, we get strong signal. It's very close to uguisudani station on the yamanote line. The queen size bed in our room is very comfortable. The staff is very polite and helpful. I seen some people complaining about the area (love hotels), but it's a lot better then some of the seedy areas in Canada (where I'm from) lol. This a great home base for a Tokyo vacation. I would recommend it.
This is my first hotel in Japan and after getting over the culture shock I think I realised how lucky I got hotel room wise. The it's small but well designed, which seems to be the standard in japan x clean and has everything you could need, in a fairly decent location for ueno and the subway x
