Having stayed at several locations in Texarkana, I’ve finally found my ‘go to’ place now. Clean, quiet, well-maintained, easy access, close to everything. Full kitchenette...best value. The staff are are so nice. Thanks Ms. Vivian and Ms. Felix at the front desk and Ms. Shirley in housekeeping. Everyone was so accommodating and smiling!
Nothing exactly horrible about the stay, just a general sense of unkeptness. The matressses are far and away some of the worst I have encountered in my life, and there seems to be just a general lack of attention to detail in the maintenance and housekeeping of the facility.
On my recent stay, I required a need to use the business center to print some important documents. Ms Vivian, on duty, was nothing short of rude and disengaged when I brought to her attention the fact that a printer in the business center was not working. Instead of assisting with my concern, she instructed me to walk over to Courtyard, “the sister property”. When I walked over, the friendly front staff at Courtyard was more professional and assisted in my concerns. They also mentioned that Ms Vivian never called over to let them know I was on my way over. While waiting for my shuttle to the airport, Ms Vivian was gossiping with the van driver about church issues. I expect more from the Hospitality industry.
I went on the app, and reserved my room approximately 30 minutes to arriving. When I arrived, I was informed that there were completely booked, and no remaining rooms were available. I give the man behind the desk credit, because he put the effort into finding one, and he did. The problem was that the room was missing towels and toiletries, no sheets on the bed, and the sink was dirty as if there was somebody there and brushed their teeth, and toothpaste was on the faucet. One of the pillows had a red stain on it, which was a disgusting, but we didn’t use it. I went back to the front desk, and he provided us with everything that we were missing, and we made the bed. He also said to let him know if we needed anything, and he would run it right over. He was very accommodating, and appeared to be a little disappointed about not having a vacant room. We were completely dumbfounded by the fact that they were no rooms available, and very disappointed about the situation. I don’t know where to place blame to help prevent this from happening again, maybe it was the app, the computer system, or just a managerial error.
Not clean!!!! Used floss pick by bed, bathroom counter not wiped down (I always wipe down anyway found a half broken purple nail and a razor cover with a swipe of a wet one.). One towel in bathroom. Not sure towels were clean, didn’t smell clean and were stained. Sheets came off bed in the night bc they didn’t fit. Hallway and room smelled terrible.
I would have given this 5 stars but the bed was so hard and I was very uncomfortable. But seems common... loved that I could bring my little 4lbs chihuahua for only $25! Others charge $100! Location and parking was good. Shower could have been cleaner. Price for the 1 bedroom was very good though. Would stay again if traveling with my dog. If I didn’t have her I would have gone somewhere with softer beds!
I am currently staying in a suite. Although the staff is extremely friendly, I have been trying since Monday to tell them my water pressure in my shower is horrible and I would like to either switch rooms or get it fixed. I hardly ever complain because I know how hard it is working in the hospitality business but it is now Thurs. and I hope I can get some resolution. They did try to send someone last night, however it was 9:30pm and I was already in bed. I will be here for two months, so I really hope this gets resolved if not I will have to switch hotels.
The chairs had visible dust the mattress was one of those cheap $99 dollar bargain ones the shower barely worked. I have stayed in a lot of Marriott hotels and this one is not Marriott quality more like Motel 6 with a kitchenette. Definitely will think twice before booking another Marriott hotel. The only thing was the staff was very friendly.
We made a reservation for double dourooms 24 hrs. in advance. The check in time was supposed to be 3 PM. When we arrived at 5:30 PM after 9 hrs. of driving, only one room was ready and the other was not. The front desk girl said it would be over an hour before that room would be cleaned. The alternative was to take a single room that was ready. We opted for the single room which should have been cheaper, but the girl said all the rooms in the hotel were the same price, no matter what size or the number of beds. Of course, this is not true, but we were too tired to argue with her. Both rooms turned out to have dirty bathrooms with stray hairs and sticky floors. Front desk morning staff was also rude and spent most of their time in the back room on their cell phones. We usually stay in the Hyatt Home brand of hotels which is much, much better. We will never stay here again.
We only stayed one night, thank goodness, on our way to Dallas. The room needed a through scrubbing. The bathroom was the worst. It looked like nothing had been cleaned except the tub and sink. The shower curtain had a small amount of mold in it. The floor in the bathroom and especially the room didn't look like they had been cleaned. There was dust caked in the corners and around the bed. The room had an old musty smell. Breakfast was horrible. I know it comes with the room but I've never had one this bad. I could tell the woman that was serving was frustrated. There is no room to sit and everyone was jammed together. The only good thing I can say is it's cheap. Sometimes cheap isn t good and this wasnt. Stay somewhere else!
