We made a reservation for double dourooms 24 hrs. in advance. The check in time was supposed to be 3 PM. When we arrived at 5:30 PM after 9 hrs. of driving, only one room was ready and the other was not. The front desk girl said it would be over an hour before that room would be cleaned. The alternative was to take a single room that was ready. We opted for the single room which should have been cheaper, but the girl said all the rooms in the hotel were the same price, no matter what size or the number of beds. Of course, this is not true, but we were too tired to argue with her. Both rooms turned out to have dirty bathrooms with stray hairs and sticky floors. Front desk morning staff was also rude and spent most of their time in the back room on their cell phones. We usually stay in the Hyatt Home brand of hotels which is much, much better. We will never stay here again.
We only stayed one night, thank goodness, on our way to Dallas. The room needed a through scrubbing. The bathroom was the worst. It looked like nothing had been cleaned except the tub and sink. The shower curtain had a small amount of mold in it. The floor in the bathroom and especially the room didn't look like they had been cleaned. There was dust caked in the corners and around the bed. The room had an old musty smell. Breakfast was horrible. I know it comes with the room but I've never had one this bad. I could tell the woman that was serving was frustrated. There is no room to sit and everyone was jammed together. The only good thing I can say is it's cheap. Sometimes cheap isn t good and this wasnt. Stay somewhere else!
Not always easy to find nice quality, clean hotels on the interstate with accommodations for 4 people and a dog. TownePlace Suites was perfect. Very clean, large rooms, solid breakfast and great, helpful people at the front desk.
I stayed for 6 weeks at this location this year.Under my own name with my company paying for the stays. Did I receive 1 point on my membership from them? NO. They continually lied about they were working on it and I still have seen nothing. I will NOT be staying there or even be grateful for their service, as their point system for their Club membership is not being honored by this location.
We called around looking for a room and this was recommended to us. We were not happy with the price. Way too expensive for such a small room. Asked front desk about why we didn't have a suite but was informed all rooms were suites. When we unfolded sofa bed it came out to our bed and I couldn't get around it so we have to turn sofa bed around in order to walk in small room. Went to get ice and ice machine was empty so we had to get our son out and go to a convenience store to buy ice. We should not have had to do that after traveling for two days we were worn out. When we checked in that afternoon they would not give us a key to our room so we had to come back to get it. When we get breakfast the next morning the selections were poor. No biscuits to eat with sausage and eggs so we had to go to McDonalds to eat. Not real happy with our stay.
We love staying here! The hotel is PERFECT for everything we need. The rooms are all Suites with kitchens and very spacious with enough room for your family to spread out. It is always clean, the beds are comfortable, free wifi, etc. The kitchen is such a plus for families. You have a full size fridge, stovetop, dishes and a dishwasher!!! You can't beat that. The price is great to under $100. Please make Towneplace your choice when traveling through Texarkana. You'll be glad you did,
I have stayed at this location multiple times and my most recent stay was okay. The facility is well-maintained and the rooms are spacious enough. For me, the breakfast was a bit skimpy, but acceptable. Bottom line, this really is a decent, clean-looking, modern place, BUT I wish they would find a way for all Marriott properties that accept pets to have separate floors for animals and those of us who don't want to be exposed to people's pets. Like the old smoking and non-smoking, there should be animal and non-animal rooms. While I was there they were searching for someone's escaped cat out and about the building, and the smell of animals was otherwise very present. I have to assume animals have done something on the furniture and floors in the rooms I stay in, that has not been thoroughly cleaned, and as someone who is not 'an animal lover' it makes me mostly avoid places that have an open door policy to pets.
My mom, kids and I checked in after a long drive from Houston after being up all night with a sick toddler. I was exhausted and frustrated after checking in because I waited over 30 minutes for a luggage cart - apparently the large party that checked in before us took both luggage carts and went MIA. I wasn't overly pleasant because we had a lot of stuff to unload from the truck, including a large cat crate, twin 1 year-olds and a 2 year old. They had to go to the neighboring hotel and get a luggage cart for me, which was greatly appreciated. Once we got to our room it was 80 some odd degrees, but we eventually got it cooled off. We went to bed early In hopes of getting up early the next day. Sadly, I woke up the next morning with a stomach bug which made us extend our stay another day. And it's a good thing we did, because my mom got the stomach bug a few hours later. Between all the sickness, the toilet ended up clogged up and we had to call maintenance to fix the toilet. Then again, the toilet clogged - after the second visit they admitted to us that they've had issues with the commode in that particular room for awhile. The next morning, we had the same issue waiting for a luggage cart and after 20 minutes they finally sent somebody to get one from across the street again. Obviously, the luggage cart issue is beyond their control. The toilet issue obviously needs to be solved, but all in all in was a nice stay. Thank you to everyone we encountered there for their assistance. They even brought us water and Gatorade to the room when we needed it. And, a special thanks to the poor housekeeping staff that had to clean our room. I sincerely hope they didn't get that nasty bug we apparently brought with us.
This Marriott provides a great value for an overnight stay in a room that is slightly larger than a motel room. It also provides a fridge and microwave and couch. The breakfast was good and the location convenient to the highway and places to eat. We did have a minor service problem that should have been fixed before we arrived.
We only stayed overnight but highly recommend and would stay again. Super clean. Cute hallways and rooms are really big with a kitchenette. Free breakfast is better than most with ham and scrambled eggs. Next to a steak and shake of that matters to you. Was surprised to see a dog in the hotel. Good to know they are welcome here if you have one and or in case you are allergic to them. I wouldn't have wanted to be in a guest room next door though. Dogs were barking at 6 am.
