Magnuson Hotel Texarkana

My husband and I made an unexpected pit stop here to get some sleep and refuel. We were pleasantly surprised. This is an old La Quinta newly taken over by Magnusen. The facility is dated. The furniture and tub surround had old cigarette stain burns visible....etc.... but the place was immaculately clean and the beds were newly replaced. I slept like a rock.... and the 2 guys at the front desk may go down as the most friendly and helpful hotel staff I've ever met. They were awesome.

Old old hotel. Non-smoking room still reeked of years & years of smoking. Breakfast was terrible.

Near the pool there was a bad odor and the pool was in bad shape. There were no towels also.

The motel was nice but when checked my bank they had over charged me. The cost was suppose to be $48.00 but I was charged $61.00. I understand there are taxes but that's a lot more than the stated price. That said, I don't think I will stay there again. You or they should be clear about the taxes if they are going to be over ten dollars.

Traveled a long way, stopped to sleep..and was expecting a nice comfortable stay. It was quite the opposite. Room was dirty, tub was dirty, when folded blankets back to get into bed, there was dirt and hair in one of the beds.In the morning went to the front desk to ask for extra towels, the clerk was rude with a bad attitude and said that the hotel did not provide extra towels! Worse hotel I've ever stayed at!!

absolutely horrible I will never stay at that hotel again potholes in parking lot non smoking room that smelled like smoke horrible smell at night outside room like the smell of sewer nasty nasty place that should be closed

the room was comfortable but as my family and I entered we smelled a terrible smell. As we walked around to see what it was it was revealed that a huge dump in the toilet was made. the toilet water was full of stuff and all yellow tint. I reported it to the front desk but they said they couldn't do anything about it because I reserved it online. it took about 15 mins for the smell to leave but we had taken all of our bags inside so we wernt interested in doing all the extra stuff to get another room being that it was already after 1am. Please look into it and see what you can do about that. Thank you.

normally it's a great hotel. this time they were ride the rooms wete missing pillows. then on top of that y they said we were on the do not rent list because last time we were there, we teamed the room, some blankets, ect.. we asked if that was threw case why didn't they call us or charge or credit card for damages? they never told us n never key us talk to manager. . we won't be back

We had a wonderful stay. In late, out early. Very polite staff.

Not the prettiest place in town but room was clean,,air was cold and bed was comfortable!

Check in clerk very nice my 1st room AC didn't work I was coming from a long artic winter in chicago 70 was hot to me an I needed AC so clerk moved me dwn from that room had to move everything. Then ice machine in that building wasn't working had to go to lobby ice macine for ice, bit of a walk when your tired from 14Hrs of driving. Thank God 2nd room had no probems. Breakfat was OK

Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful. Prices were reasonable. We had a good stay. However, there are two identical motels opposite each other on each side of the interstate which makes locating the right one quite confusing. The breakfast also left something to be desired. The selection was rather limited and that was very average, at best.

Read the subject line, that sums it up, plus the address is wrong, it's on the Texas side, NOT the Arkansas side! Room had fleas, enough said! Since I had 2 dogs, thankfully on flea meds, that wasn't nice, not to mention I HATE FLEAS!

Upon arrival, everything was ready all I had to do was show my id. After a 14 hour drive it was wonderful.

The staff was very helpful upon arrival. Check in was fast. Room was comfortable even though bathroom Wes a little small. Convenient to eating places. My wife left a jacket there when we left. We stopped by on return trip to retrieve it but the lost and found was locked. She took our address and stated the jacket would be shipped to us pending the description we left with her.

I had an easy check in & was able to acess the Texarkana twin city shopping or dining easily

Hotel is not brand new, but very well maintained. The hotel staff are extremely friendly & efficient. We didn't have a chance to check out the breakfast, but the mattress on our bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, supportive but so very soft!! Will be staying there again when we go back in two weeks!

Between the noise of the freeway and the guys hanging out right outside the door and on the balcony above, it was really hard to get a good night's sleep. From now on, I'll check to see if the room opens onto parking lot, because it was very uncomfortable even to carry my luggage from the car to the room. And then the key didn't work. And the front desk was none too helpful. This hotel had nothing to soften the noise of the freeway. I think I'd almost have been as happy in the car, saving the $$$.

Hotel is located excellently near the off ramp of I-30. Awesome and courteous staff. Good continental breakfast (gotta love the fresh waffles). Only negative was a closed out smell which was defeated by my wife's perfume.

If you're interested in spending the night at the Hooter's next door or if you don't mind hearing the neighbors arguing with their kids about brushing their teeth, this is the place for you. The walls were thin and the shower was weak, but the bed was comfy and the hotel is very conveniently located. It was exactly what we expected for the price and nothing more.
