We usually stay here when traveling to Texarkana. While it’s convenient to highway there can be noise. Make sure get away from highway. They have nightly free beer and appetizers, along with wine. M-W. You can walk to couple restaurants. Rooms are clean.
We were in town for 2 nights for a funeral and I picked this place based upon reviews. The first day when we checked into our room I thought it was a strange configuration. There was a very long work desk area and the desk was so close to the end of the bed it was hard to get by to get to the bathroom. But the bathroom was the real problem. The door would not open or close completely without a really hard shove. Apparently the building had shifted and the floor was uneven. You could tell that they had tried to trim down the door, but it was not enough. We were pretty tired when we checked in and had to leave again soon to attend the funeral visitation so we decided it wouldn't be too bad. WRONG! We had to leave the door open during the night because it was so hard to close. The next morning I called the front desk and told them either the door needed to be fixed (which I thought was highly unlikely given the size of the door) or we needed a new room. I was told they would have their maintenance man look at it when he came in. I asked when that would be and she said around 10:00. We left around 9:30 and returned about 11:00. The door was still stuck. I called again and requested a room change. About 12:30 we were finally given another room. The maintenance man brought our keys and we showed him the door. He said what we already knew that the door would have to be taken down and trimmed off. Our second room was fine. A much better room design and the door worked! Everyone we encountered in the hotel was very friendly. I just wonder why this door hadn't been fixed since obviously it had been that way for quite some time. I gave it an overall 3 rating because 4 was very good and I wanted to just say "good." Our room was away from the freeway so noise was not a problem but I could see how it could be.
This is a very new hotel. The condition is outstanding. I was give an upgrade to room 423 upon checkin ( platinum Marriott) The room was perfect, large living area, bathroom and separate bedroom with an actual bedroom door. The living area was super comfortable and quiet. The bedroom was on the highway side facing I30 and was super loud. I didn't realize this until about 11:30pm, after I had unpacked and was ready for bed. I highly suggest you get a room that the bedroom are faces AWAY from the highway.
We spent a night at this hotel on our way to Austin from Nashville. The hotel was very clean and modern, and the staff were very friendly. We really appreciated the evening social buffet (brauts on rolls, potato salad, cole slaw, beer and wine - very good), as we were quite tired from the drive, and this meant we didn't have to go out in the cold again. And, of course, it was complimentary! There was also a nice breakfast buffet in the morning. We have stayed in many Residence Inn's in the last few years, and this one did not disappoint.
We spent a night at this hotel on our way to Austin and liked it so much that we spent another night on our return trip. We found the hotel to be immaculate and the staff friendly and very accommodating. We were provided with an excellent breakfast buffet both mornings. What we found exceptional was the evening wine and tidbits. We took advantage of this on our second stay after we had driven all day through heavy traffic made worse by heavy fog, rain, and cold temperatures. We were happy not to have to go out and the grilled bratwurst on pretzel rolls with potato salad (and chips) along with beer, wine and other soft drinks provided a a nice and convenient supper. We will stop here again if we drive this way!
This property is fairly new and up-to-date. We stayed in a king studio, and the room seemed just a little smaller than the usual Residence Inn studio room. It wasn't enough smaller to matter. The hotel is located fairly close to the interstate highway. I requested a room as far from the interstate as possible, and didn't hear any highway noise. I used points for this stay because the hotel is listed as a category 1 hotel. It is a really good bargain if you have Marriott points. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants, shopping and a theater.
This place is great. It’s modern and clean. I have been back here 3 times for business and every time for Texarkana, this is my place. The front desk staff was very polite and nice. Keep up the great work!
I had a great stay at this particular Residence Inn. The rooms are very modern, spacious, and clean. Breakfast was okay, breakfast item selections can be improved. Great location near shopping and food. The staff was very helpful. Beth Huckins (the front desk supervisor) was especially helpful in fixing a discrepancy on my bill. She took the time out to fix the error several days after checkout, and even followed up to make sure I received the necessary information. This will definitely be my hotel of choice anytime I have to work/stay in Texarkana!
Super friendly staff, really clean rooms. Only complaint is breakfast...food was wonderful, staff working hard and friendly, but they are seriously making it too difficult for themselves. They appeared to have limited plates, forks, glasses, etc so folks were literally waiting for those items one at a time as they washed them. Those things are inexpensive so just buy more- do your staff a favor. They we're working ridiculously hard to keep up when that's an easy fix for the hotel.
The hotel was very nice. Our room was comfortable and the staff had excellent customer service. There are nearby restaurants that served delicious food. Stores are nearby too. I plan on staying here every time I return which is twice a year. Thank you!
