While on paper this property should be great, it just doesn't make it. The room is large, but not very comfortable for sitting/watching TV etc. The TV is oddly situated for the couch and the couch is not very comfortable. There is really no place to eat if you choose to bring in food. While the facility seemed pretty clean my room was not made up on the first day, they claimed it was because I had a "do not disturb" sigh up until 9:15am, and on the second morning I found gum stuck to the side of the headboard (I don't chew gum so no telling how long it was there). The staff is very pleasant and the breakfast pretty good for a moderately priced property. It just doesn't "feel" right and I would have a hard time staying there again although given the local alternatives might do so anyway. Hard to recommend however.

Room was decent and good size. Failed to get room cleaned first night as I had a do not disturb sign up until 9:15am. Breakfast for this price and class hotel is good and staff pleasant. Overall experience on second visit to this property remains just OK but not really sure why. Given a better alternative, I would probably choose that.

My first room smelled of vomit. I continuously called the front desk and visited but my calls were unanswered and no one was there. I had to sleep in that horrible smelling room for one evening. The staff that was on the next day was accommodating

When checking in I was informed that orbitz didn't book the room l reserved.

When arrived front desk was friendly, but when I got to the elevator it was dirty and had and odor to it the floor was dirty , the next day going to breakfast the staff was using it to haul trash but to there defense there is only 2 elevators also when we got into the room and it was late (and 12 am check in ) the room was grimy we had to go to Walmart and get and 2 pack of disinfecting wipes and we used all of um to wipe down everything in room the only reason we staid was we prepaid to get a better rate and it was non re fundable

Nice older hotel, clean rooms and a very Friendly staff. Regular cleaning. WiFi sucks but it's done via satellite and when it rains......and it does, well you get it. 45 minutes from St. Pete beach. Oh and a decent spread for breakfast, and again the friendliest staff. We will stay again when in Tampa.

Only thing was pillows a little harder than we have. We normally travel with our own, but did not this time.

Very close to Busch Gardens and they run a shuttle.

One of the few places that offer 2 king beds in room. Perfect for parents and their children to rest before and after going to Busch Gardens. Front desk offered the children small stuffed giraffes which made their day! The rooms are okay for a short stay. Bathrooms need some work. Shuttle very convenient back and forth to BG. Overall an adequate spot to spend a night.

Terrible hotel room smelled funky ac was not cold enough. Breakfast was gross.

Really close to Busch gardens and free shuttle bus

I am not picky about hotels. I just needs a bed, shower, wifi (for work) and a TV to relax at night. -No working WIFI (connects but no internet) -Non-working TV This hotel had absolutely terrible WIFI. I was unable to even look up simple things for my morning meetings and ended up having to go to a coffee shop for wifi. I went to the front desk to see about help and no one was ever there. I went 2 times. The TV kept giving my a message about "no signal available". I will not be saying at wingate again since I can't rely on them.

TV Set did not work any of the three.nights we were there We were there for the College Football Championship Game and could not watch the game high lights when we got back from the game Could not get the channel off of the movies being advertised. Maintanance came up and were able to get the normal channels, but as soon as they left, the TV went back to the movie channel. There were no instructions available as to how to use the TV. Also the tread mill was difficult to operate. Again, there were no instructions available.

This was very convenient to USF for a campus visit. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The staff and hotel more than met expectations. Very nice property and more importantly, top notch staff.

We decided to come to Tampa because of the weather there. Little did we know that we would love everything about it but the traffic. The hotel was well located, the staff very friendly, and was close to many attractions. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends, especially since UConn plays against South Florida.

The hotel was overall good and the room with double king beds was large and spacious with nice chairs, work desk, bench, microwave, mini fridge etc. The bathroom could have been bigger- and the shower and bath tub setup was very tight.

The Wyndham located next to the USF campus is very nice and convenient. The room we had two king beds and a lot of room to work. My bags did not arrive on my airline and when I called, the hotel stated they would accept and store for me until I arrived. I checked in at 8pm, and the bags were waiting. The only problem I encountered was the printer in the business center was broken and I could not print out my boarding passes.

I love staying at Wingate any time I go to Busch Gardens. The location is perfect! The last time I was there, the hotel staff went above and beyond to help us. My friend had accidentally booked her room for another weekend and the front desk was so accommodating even though the reservation was technically non-refundable. They made a situation that could have put a damper on the weekend not a big deal at all.

BRAND NEW! front desk is educated and polite. rooms are spacious and clean, everything works! worth the money.
